For me, it just sounds like the CP grinds are way too harsh for their end result, even if the goal is eventually 30 caps for each. I know I occasionally see people saying they don't want Abyssea-esque CP gains, but I'm not sure this ToAU-esque or earlier payout is the good kind of grind for the game, especially if someone would actually like to beef up multiple jobs. Doubly so if the jobs you happen to like aren't popular, thus resulting in slower gains. Mind you, I like the idea of having to be on the job to improve it, but let's not pretend discrimination doesn't exist between the jobs anymore.

Would also generally reconsider giving the game a play now and then if they halved the sub fee, at least, and removed mule costs. I could even mention F2P, but that's no fun with preludes gone...

I'd have no problem with a ToAU-esque grind, if the points themselves were only 10k each. But at 30k each. they should really allow you to go to Abyssea for them. To cap one of the categories at 10, that'll cost you 1.65 million capacity points. Or basically, the experience from level 1 to a bit short of level 92. That's ridiculous. Especially considering most, if not all, the boosts are negligible at best even when capped.

For Ninja,
  • Ninjutsu accuracy +1: Even capped, it will make a negligible difference. Anything you're having difficulty landing enfeebles on now, you'll continue having difficulties with this.
  • Ninjutsu casting time -1%: Initially it sounds great, but then you realize once you get Ichi under 3.5 seconds(average mob delay), it doesn't matter nearly as much. And getting it down to that is ridiculously easy right now with just Mochizuki Chainmail(NQ or +1) and Magoraga Beads doing it, before any Fast Cast gear is even factored in.

And just so I can rant about the old ones. :p
  • Mijin Gakure damage +3%: No one cares how much damage they do when they either need to Warp or remove Weakness.
  • Mikage attack +3: Not bad when capped. But it's still just your one-hour, and you won't be using it anywhere near that often anyways. It does nothing to address the biggest problem with it, that being you constantly have to recast Utsusemi during it unless you're in an extremely ideal scenario(In which case, you probably don't need it anyway).
  • Yonin evasion +2: Meh. Yonin is pretty much just a solo tool anyways. It's kind of worthless in a group because you're basically sacrificing you're only hate tool so you can evade better. You obviously don't need to evade if you can't maintain hate. And with all the evasion on all the statvomit gear, you probably don't need much more for your soloing.
  • Innin accuracy +1: Meh. It's a conditional +10 accuracy capped. Much easier to get that elsewhere without having to run around like a jackass trying to stay behind the mob.

I'm holding out until I see Ninjutsu recast time -x%. Probably the only one that'll actually be worthwhile.

It's worse than that, because the CP you earn is not equivalent to the EXP you earn. You actually get *significantly* less CP.

To put things in perspective, some random trash mobs in Marjami Ravine... they give me about 1100-1200 EXP unchained. With both the double CP campaign going on + Vocation Ring active (meaning I'm getting 4x the usual amount of CP), I only get about 450 CP unchained.

It's worse than that.

You get, non-campaigns going on, roughly 1/5 of the amount of EXP you get for capacity. You need 55 job points to cap out a single category and each job currently has four with two more on the way. That's 1,650,000 capacity needed like stated above.

In experience earned that's roughly 8,250,000 (conversion isn't exact and more or less depending on rings and campaigns). That's four jobs leveled fully from 1 to 99, capping experience included. Or, that's two jobs with maxed merits.

The grind is absolutely ridiculous.

On the bright side, if you do want to work on your JP, there is so little interest that you have your pick of camps. Even during double CP campaign.

Right now the game is a bit content-starved, so it's a fall back option if you're looking for something to do.

I didn't realize there was a double CP campaign going on. :\ If this was the norm, 450CP(with +100% ring) sounds about right on par with the ToAU-esque grind.

But yeah, it's still ridiculous. And this is coming from someone who likes the idea of doing old school EXP parties again, and will probably join random Capacity PTs for ***** and giggles. But it's horribly implemented and they need to make the boosts worth the effort by either buffing them, or reducing their cost.

Details on the Upcoming Version Update!

Matsui here.

I'd like to give you all a preview of the content slated for the August version update.

The Seekers of Adoulin missions are at long last heading towards the conclusion. The concealed history of Adoulin is being revealed bit by bit, and those worried for the future are being ridiculed. Make sure to play through the missions to discover the source of the burgeoning rift between Arciela and the heads of the other eleven orders.

Additionally, we'll be implementing major new battle content known as "alluvion skirmishes," wherein players invade through an ever-changing labyrinth, progressing ever toward the innermost recesses.

Like previous skirmishes, alluvion skirmishes are easy to join, and combining different simulacra segments changes the battle dynamics, allowing various jobs to participate.

I'm sure you're all curious about what new equipment we will be implementing, so I would like to let you know that we've prepared weapons with brand-new graphics that can be obtained in alluvion skirmishes. You'll be able to engrave arcane glyptics on these new weapons, and we've prepared different enhancements for melee jobs, ranged jobs, mage jobs, and pet jobs. We'd like players to customize their weapons based on their own preferences.

Speaking of equipment, we'll also be implementing a brand-new feature known as "equipment sets" that will allow you to swap out all of your equipment at once. This feature will launch with twenty sets so that we can monitor its stress on our hardware, but we plan on expanding this in the near future, pending that there are no major issues.

Additional content includes alter egos of young Excenmille and other NPCs from Wings of the Goddess; various job adjustments, including HP boosts to multiple jobs; and two new job point categories for all 22 jobs. We'll also be adding new objectives to Records of Eminence, making adjustments to existing content, and much, much more!

We've also prepared a special trailer(North America/EU) that showcases the content of the August version update, so be sure to check it out!

The version update is scheduled to be implemented on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 (JST).

Some of the items scheduled for implementation with this version update are currently in testing.

Warp Ring sounds cool, now instead of derping around with animas and crap to make a warp cudgel, I can just use a ring instead. Hopefully it is rechargeable a'la Emperor Band.

Now if they'd just allow us to use use-able items from the Mog Wardrobe instead of requiring the item to be in the regular inventory (and having to constantly swap Inventory Options to equip and unequip said items), that'd be even more awesome.

Hopefully they fix Kupipi's semi-broken logic in those Trust adjustments; seems like since the last Trust Adjustment, she keeps wanting to hump my legs for some odd reason and sometimes she seems to fall asleep at the keyboard (standing there doing nothing but swinging at the mob while I'm slowly dying), etc.

I like this update; the SoA title screen music was just too loud. I'm also happy about the quest NPC (11 years late, lol) so I can finally finish some of the older quests I've never got around to do.

So...... Warp Cudgels are pretty much worthless.

They are probably harder to obtain (Aren't the Warp Rings sold by CP?), and they have limited charges.... oh, but there's a 1m recast.

How often do you REALLY need to cast Warp more than once per 10min? If I needed Warp that often, I'd go /blm lol.

But hey, I won't argue against free warp every 10min on any job.

I've never liked using Warp enchantment items much because of the fact you have to change equipment and wait before you can use it. When I want a Warp, I want a Warp right now!

Therefore, I'll probably keep on using Instant Warp scrolls :s

The change I wish they would make is to remove the Rare tag on those scrolls and make them stackable.

What destiny lies in store for those caught up in these eddies of misfortune?
And what is the ultimate endgame of this new threat facing the land...?

With the final chapter rapidly approaching, the raging seas of the fourth installment in Arciela's saga continue to churn.

I don't mind the wait, but what I simply hate (and I hope they fix this), is how you MUST keep the item you want to use in your INVENTORY and not the Mog Wardrobe.

Therefore, if you keep your Real ring in the Wardrobe...

1). Open the equipment screen
2). Highlight the Ring, hit Enter
3). Go up to "Inventory Options", hit enter
4). Select the usable ring, hit Enter.
5). Use Ring.
6). Repeat 1-4.

Annoying. I suppose I could use a macro to do that, but I'm afraid of accidentally hitting it in battle or something and end up running around with a Warp or XP ring on for who knows how long until I catch the mistake.
