This quest is initiated by examining the book "Thundering Steppes Creature Catalog". This book can be purchased from Gratified Merchants in the Nektulos Forest or Thundering Steppes. These are the merchants you must rescue from mob camps. You must catalog the following mobs in the Thundering Steppes:

• a Fledgling Antelope - West of the Thundermist Village Station Griffon Tower along the Thundermist Road (the road leading West from the Thundermist Village Station Griffon Tower)
• a Creeping Dead - In the Coldwind Shores Cemetary
• a Weald Wolf - West of the Thundermist Valley Teleporter
• a Plains Snake - North of the Thundermist Road along the western edge of the craters
• an Amazon Archer - in the grasslands North of the South East Station Griffon Tower or in the Centaur Encampment next to the Coldwind Station
• a Corpse Feeder - in the Dead River Basin West of the docks and east of the Bridge Keep
• a Steppe Beetle - anywhere around the grasslands West of the Thundermist Village Station Griffon Tower
• an Unbound Familiar - near the entrance to Ruins of Varsoon close to the a Varsoon Apprentice
• a Tide Octopus - in the water West of the Coldwind Station
• an Entrancing Siren - in the water South-East of Antonica Station Griffon Tower (just north of the mountains on the coast) or South of the docks
• a Sabertooth Hunter - in the craters North of Thundermist Road
• a Steelhoof Tracker - in the grasslands directly North of the South East Station Griffon Tower
• a Firerock Giant - along the road leading west from the South East Station Griffon Tower
• A Skeletal Lieutenant - in the dead lands east of the Dead River Road (leading north from the South East Station Griffon Tower)
• a Deathbone Theurgist - on the West side of the Dead River just West of Qeynos Tower 5

The reward is a furniture version of the book, which can be placed in your house and read.
