I have come across a strange crystalline stone. Through its faintly translucent surface, I can see an object of some sort within. I wonder what it could be...
Stage 1
In order to break this stone open, I'm going to need something more than my apparently flimsy weapons can do. Perhaps if I can get a Rhinocerous to step on it, that would do the trick.
Start: | I should goad a rhinocerous to step on this stone in the Savannah. I'm sure I can make one mad enough. |
---|
Complete: | I have gotten a rhinocerous to step on this stone. |
---|
After getting a Rhinocerous to step on this stone, it only managed to scuff the surface. I think I'm going about this the wrong way.Stage 2
While crushing this stone did not seem to do much at all, perhaps a creature with a strong jaw and sharp teeth might be able to. The Dervishes are known for their attack wolves, and with their nickname "Throat Biters" they may be just what I'm looking for.
Start: | I should find some wolves, and see if I can't get one of them to use this thing as a chew toy. |
---|
Complete: | I have gotten one of the wolves to gnarl on the crystalline stone. |
---|
I was able to shove the stone in one of the wolves' mouths just before it bit me. Unfortunately, I think the wolf lost a few teeth, and the stone still holds strong. I am going to have to go back to the drawing board.Stage 3
Where brute force has failed me, perhaps something more subtle will succeed. I think the caustic ectoplasm from those poor tortured souls may be strong enough to eat through this rock.
Start: | I should find enough caustic ectoplasm to eat away the crystalline surface of this stone. |
---|
Complete: | I have gathered a vial of caustic ectoplasm |
---|
I have gathered a vial of caustic ectoplasm. Having broken through the adamantine shell, I have found a ring of devotion. The inscription inside says "My husband, my love. May the shadow of Norrath never dim our light. -Asilah"
