You're moving the goalposts from "federal buildings" to "public buildings". What part of "Trump is only empowered to protect federal buildings" did you not get? Yeah. They were only protecting federal buildings, because those are the only buildings they are legally allowed to protect.

lolwut? You were the one saying "$300k damage to public buildings". I was the one who pointed out that "public buildings" was too broad a term to be meaningful.

Um. And I was countering your argument that the presence of the federal officers didn't make any difference. My mention of "public buildings" rather than just "federal buildings" was to show that there was significant damage done to buildings that the Federal folks were not involved in protecting.

So yes, the fact that there was very little damage done to federal buildings but a lot of damage to public buildings (and even more to private property) supports my argument that where there were police protecting stuff, there was less damage. The feds were protecting federal buildings and there was less damage to those structures. Which makes on wonder how much less damage would have occurred elsewhere if the mayor and governor had actually used their own police and/or national guards to do their jobs and protect stuff.

That was my point. Do you get it now?

How many buildings? Which ones? $150,000 damage to one building or $10k to fifteen buildings or $1k damage to a hundred and fifty buildings? You're throwing around meaningless numbers, probably because you just don't understand that they are meaningless and are just parroting what Tucker Carlson told you.

You still never actually answered the question of how much damage was done to the federal courthouse pre- and post- Feds being sent to guard it and mix up with the protestors. I assume because you have no idea and just blindly assume it was super-super useful to spend several hundreds of thousands of dollars to respond to fifty grand in damage.
