Gears of Klak'Anon

Level -
TypeInstanced Indoor

Gnomes studying a magical and likely cursed technological artifact are particularly intrigued about the unusual properties of this mythical relic. Especially the effects that it grants to its possessor, which rapidly decay health, but with the dubious tradeoff of increased offensive potential. In an effort to further study the effects, and for their own twisted amusement, players are rewarded for engaging in a science experiment turned entertainment, Hold the Relic.

How to Play

Upon zoning in, you find yourself upon a ledge, placed in either the red team or the blue team. There is a short amount of time to prepare yourself before the boundary drops and you can jump down into the playing field.

The focus is to hold the gnomish relic, which is found in the bottom center of the zone when it is not currently being held by a team. Simply running into it will pick it up. Your team gains one point for each second that you have possession of the relic.

However, holding the relic has a downside--the person in possession of it will continuously take damage from a DoT called Mechanical Relic Radiation. Additionally, there will be a rotating black gear high above your head, making you an easy target for the other team. The person holding the relic is immediately placed into combat, nullifying run speed bonuses.

If the player holding the relic is killed, then the relic will drop where they were standing for a few seconds. If it is not picked up, the relic returns to its starting location to be reclaimed.

The zone is straight-forward, with an upper central platform above where the relic is found. A ramp on either side of the platform will lead up to it, with bridges leading into the four small enclosed corridors. There are two moving platforms, that raise up and down on their own, one on each team's side of the field.
