They all have a harm touch which varries in strength based on their level.

Heh, all these are good questions about the shadowknights and all, and loots, etc.
First of all, I personally (spending A LOT of time in this fun, low level dungeon) think that the shadowknights are on a random spawn timer with placeholders. The first shadowknight (soloable usually by level 6) has a placeholder that is usually a skeleton of sorts.
The female human SK has over 3 placeholder's I've seen (Willowisp, Necro, Lesser Mummy) and is soloable (without adds mind you) usually by level 12.
The Ogre SK (<<WHOM you SHOULD KILL before falling in the pit traps, etc>>) is, under my observation the shortest spawn time with the most adds. Since adds with him are inevitable, He is not soloable until the 17th level or so. He occasionally drops Barbed Armplates, which are 4wt. 7AC +2Dex. Not so bad for a true newbie zone.
There are 2 more shadowknights, a troll and a female darkelf, both of which spawn on opposite sides of the 3rd level, and are easily taken down if you can avoid the ghoulie adds. The troll occasionally drops A bone bladed Claymore (A HORRIBLE 2HS weapon) and the female Darkelf sometimes drops the Barbed Legplates, if you're out for some matching Befallen armor =-)

All Values based on 25 magic resist

Male DEF= 61-71 Damage
Female HUM= 91-101 Damage
Male OGR= 111 Damage
Male TRL= 131-171 Damage** HIGHLY VARIABLE IN LEVELS
Female DEF= Around 151...

How often does the Troll SK spawn? My group went into it's room when no one had been by in forever, and we waited for about 10 minutes and they decided I had misled them, and it was actually somewhere else, so we left. So where and when does it spawn?? Please let me know, someone.

Is anyone else having problems getting to the rooms that have the sk's with the 2nd and 3rd keys? I am an ogre sk and the passage leading to those rooms seems blocked by a rock jutting down from the ceiling. I think this is showing some extreme prejudice to "big" races and I am calling my civil rights lawyer (JK). FYI, Ogres make the best SK's for this reason: the name shadow knight implies that you are INDEED a knight who would specialize in melee combat. As an sk, you have sold your soul to the evil gods to help you in your conquests. As such, Ogres rock because their offensive stats are hands down the best, and on top of that you get casting abilities and HT! If you are concerned about mana pools and fizzles, be a DE Necro and be happier. Otherwise, Ogre is the way to go (unless you are trying to get to the 2nd and 3rd key, and then u are screwed!)

Was grouped with an Ogre SK the other night, we had to pull the human and ogre SKs to him when we got here for this reason. Its not just you.

The advantage to playing an ogre in this dungeon is you don't need to worry about taunting off mobs from the casters. Just block the corridor or door so they cant get to the caster in the first place.

You don't need the 2d key except to get the third key. All keys drop off the troll, so you can possibly drop down the well near Lrodd and kill the troll to get the keys, but if you can do that solo, why are you here in the first place?

I would guess level 15 to 18.. He conned Blue to me at 18 and now green to me at level 24.

If you kill the shadowknight, be sure to loot his corpse, for most of the time he will drop a wooden key that can be used to open the locked door in the main hallway. But beware, if you are stuck on the other side of the door and the person who holds the key is dead, you are going to have to find some way out of there, and FAST! Or you are going to have to be killed because the locked door relocks itself when it closes, so you need the key to get in, and GET OUT.

Does anyone know if there is still a Troll SK that drops the Bone Bladed Claymore in here? I recently started playing again after a long (3 year) rest and I know that one of these guys used to drop it. Things have changed though and its possible that the SK who dropped it isnt in there anymore. Any help would be appreciated.

i would HIGHLEY suggest that you come here at 20 or higher, too many damn trains in befallen, so dont come here at 15 thinkin "oh this is gonna be great i'm gonna get 16 in no time flat, my friend knows everything, blah blah blah" WRONG, you come here at that level, you're gonna be at 14 looking for your bloody corpse. i went there at 15, i had to kill many greens just to get to 16, i dared not go in there again, i fell into a well once took me an hour to get it! and there are never any high level people there for you to take your trains to, so again another reason not to go in. So i say, wait til 20 or something like that to go in to befallen, just my 2cp about this god forsaken zone....

ignore the first guy, it USED to be lethal for an under 20, when the Darkies ruled the zone, now with my favourite playmates the UNDEAD back, well, at 18 a cleric can solo, at 16 a wizard can solo, and I saw a couple of level 8's partnered.

And I'm having loadsa fun whooping everything for good exp.

I dinged 14 and 15 here (though the BULK of that adventuring was done elsewhere, I capped off the levels in the wonderful world of Befallen).

The trains aren't bad at ALL on Povar, since NO ONE goes to Befallen. The most I've ever seen in there with me at one time was four.

And camping Skeleton Llrodd is time consuming but oh so very easy if you're solo and don't want to go downstairs at all.

Anyways, Befallen isn't too bad if you're careful.

Ok first off stats do matter. I would not fight with a 50 warrior with no armor or leather armor. he would get raped by whatever we were fighting. Second. Nah, i didnt see any faction changes with neriak when i was hunting in befallen up to 14 at least. I dont know about the lower lvls of befallen but there are no changes on the first lvl

Erudites are also more sophisticated than the iksar's LOW INT score, and who really gives a damn about swimming and forage, ride a boat and pay the 3 silver for rations besides everyone could care less about the race as long as your some uber fool who can kill, and quickly at that!

Hey for all of you out there saying DEs are the best sk, Trolls are the best SK, Humans are the best sk your all wrong! The best race for shadowknight is Iksar! you get most stats starting in the 80-90 range you can forage when u need food you regenerate, and your intelligence score is high so you get alot of mana, and lets not forget infravision, 100 skill at swimming at lvl 1, and the AC bonus for scales. you soft skins are all so single minded. You only think a mammal can get the job done? Well think again! The Legion of Cabilis will conquer one and all!

The M,DE,SK has the wood key, is around 8 or so, doesn't cast, but has harm touch, is easy.

the F,Hum,SK has bone key, sometimes ring, rawhide, casts, harms for 100 or so.

the M,Ogre,SK has glass key, sometimes bone arms, casts, harms for 130

All I know. Also, the glass key dropped by the ogre is NO RENT, be careful when you get stuck, but the SKs in the basement drop all 3 keys, and some nice (read: Not more than 50pp total) loot, great for the level when you still get exp from them. Also, be careful, and always get a map before you go into a dungeon

And the Troll SK HTs for 161-181, has all 3 keys and Bronze Claymore and occasionally the Bone Bladed Claymore. Just a little note, Kill the Necros fast casue they will spend their life Dark Empathying(thrown together*lol*) them.

Im a 33 DE SHD and have spent many hours in this zone before. The first male DE SHD drops splintered wooden key. The human female SHD drop splintered wooden key and charred skull key. The ogre SHD is next, he has charred skull key and smoked glass key. With the glass key you get on the third floor where there is female DE SHD who drops all three keys. The male troll SHD also drops all three keys. As for other loot they all can drop chipped bone rod, 2ac ring, raw hide pieces and other crap. The ogre drops barbed arms sometimes 7ac 2agi i believe. the female DE drops barbed legs 8ac 2dex i believe. the troll also drops bone bladed claymore 17dmg 47dly(i think)-8agi or just a plain bronze claymore. For me they are easy sometimes i kill them before they use harm touch. and yes some do have placeholders

I have created a veriaty of shadow knights including Ogre, Human, Troll, and Dark Elf, haven't tryed Iksar yet. In my opinion the Dark Elves easily make the best Shadow Knights because of their higher mana and less frizzle %. Trolls and Ogres are great for melee but they rather suck when it comes to the spell casting, just thought I would share. Also humans are good for their faction and balance of stats. =)

I always thought the Erudites sucked... and they pretty much do compared to the others stat wise, the extra juice is not worth the far worse combat stats...

until steelsilk armor came out.
