The Luggald Broodmother

Raid Encounter
Screenshot

Uploaded July 24th, 2007

Killing a Luggald Ambassador spawns The Luggald Broodmother.

After triggering The Luggald Broodmother, she roams the large incubator room for 9 minutes before becoming targetable. She spawns Defenders that can be killed prior. She will despawn after about 20 minutes if not killed.

mob type

Not a raid mob, only cons as a normal mob also can drop 1-2 items
What a creep this guy is!
# May 16 2008 at 9:31 AM Rating: Decent
So I was happily hunting with a nice group yesterday when all of the sudden this thing started wondering around. We stayed back into the luggald cave near the camp fire. All of the sudden I see this thing running toward the cave like we aggrod it. Before I knew it 3/5 group members were dead. I ran my little dwarf legs as fast as I could back to the GoG ZL. I waited about 5 minutes and zoned back in. This crazy flipping mob was still waiting at ZL for me. I zoned in and took about 50% damage in like 10 seconds then managed to back out of the zone again. 5 minutes later the same thing happened again but this time I died. I ran back with a nice lvl 80 person who felt like killing this creep. He dropped the bone-bladed battlehammer. Not to shabby! Sorta like a CHoS.
Clear-up
# Sep 05 2007 at 7:45 AM Rating: Decent
Adds do NOT need to be killed to kill her..... thought I would clear that up
Also, you can pull her single.

At the end of her walking, right when she becomes targetable, her adds will path behind for a second, when they do, you can quick pull her into the cave and fight her. She hits about 670 max i think, not that hard to kill.

raid encounter .. lol.. yea right

May 25, 2007 11pm EST... Duoed her 70 Paladin / 592 AA's (13k / 2.3k) & 64 Chanty 34 AA's (not boxed).... We were just roaming & she spawned so I started to pull, Chanty's charmed pet on 1 and I was on another until we killed enough to target her (untargetable untill you kill the rest of the hall).. Chanty kept root / mez going.. Slue's more mobs came and came.. Seemed like forever.. Chanty went OOM after 10 mins (ish).. Mobs kept comming as well as mez's breaking.. I went oom keeping chanty alive with group hugs & HoT on myself.. Had to use DD heal on myself 4x.. LH went down, then last resort HoP... Downed her (highest hit was maybe 400, but she hit fast) & chanty didnt have time to help, only to keeps add's off me.. I went oom, chanty finally fell after his pet died.. Had 3 left standing.. Kept them rooted while I tried to med for hot's.. I was oom & 61% when chanty fell.. I killed the last 3 add's.. Looted the ring she dropped (20k tribute value).. Camoed & drug chanty to rez him.. Was quite fun because of the amount of add's that came that never seemed to end.. Would like to do it again, but have 1+ more peeps with us..

There is no location of this mob, per se. There is a mob in the center of the western hallway called a luggald ambassador. The moment he went down was also the moment the first defenders appeared along with the untargetable Broodmother.

We went to Nadox to take out Innoruk , and on the way clearing to him , we spawned this beast .
If you start clearing your way to Innoruks room , you will have to wipe out a hallway just before Innys room. It is here that the apprentice shall await you. Kill the apprentice , and Broodmom spawns. She isnt targetable. If you would like , follow her around (this was our method) . Everytime she makes a stop , she summons minions to her side. You can wait until she has all her minions summoned, but we wiped them all out as she summoned them.
She should make about 4 stops , summoning about 20 minions until she is targetable. If you follow her , she should be at the opposite side of the room by the time she is targetable.
Very easy mob to kill. Has a few HP but the melee end is nothing to worry about at all. It might be a raid encounter for lvl 50's characters. I would assume most people that spawn her are prolly heading in that direction to kill Innoruk anyway ...which means you will have plenty of force to kill this Gill-faced thing.
I believe she dropped the ring and the shroud the two times we have killed her. Decent loot for alts / lower lvl characters.

DAMN HER
# Sep 05 2004 at 1:19 AM Rating: Decent
Well we killed the apprentice not sure what it would do and she spawned, well it said that she despawned in 15-20 mins if not attacked so... we left her alone and got ready for inny....10 minutes or so later our druids drops we turn around and theres a giant train of luggalds and her!~ figures the monk just pulled inny so now we have all these luggalds on us and inny on us.... lets just say it took all of 5 mins to wipe us NOT fun!! about to do the 2nd try
-----------------------------------------------
she despawned when we got back and we did inny with 9 of us only 4 being 65! omgz we rock ;) was fun shes a meanie so if ur doing inny dont kill the guy that spawns her!!

Should be an easy bard kite.
# Aug 09 2004 at 12:47 AM Rating: Default
While I've yet to see the Broodmother, because we just haven't pulled any of the higher end luggalds from the north room, I must say that you can kite her in the center luggald room without much difficulty if you have been clearing that room the whole day. I've been kiting the center room for 2 days now, and it's almost second nature now. Very simple to pull, though it helps a lot if you have selos when you get here to avoid getting hit. The post about chant kiting this mob is excellent, Run3 is key, but adds are negligible if you have cleared the middle room before going to pull the north room.

Cake for a 65 Druid (Elemental geared), with Innate Camo and Exodus...Spirit of the wood helps (if you get alot of root breaks) BM hits hard and hits fast...SotW may be all that will save you getting back to zoneline if you get stunned...

Kill PH until you get BM to spawn then stay invis while the defenders are summoned, once all the defenders are summoned you can now target her...pull BM with something other than snare...innate camo and head for torigan mines...If you are really good you can get BM to Zone Line all by herself on the first try...if you get popped re innate camo and drag all you have to zone line, BM is faster so chances are BM will be closest mob to zone line when you come back in...once you have her alone near zone line ensnare root and dot...will take you a while to kill with DoTs alone...I did several Winters Frost but you can almost count on it breaking root...

The first few times I tried this I died...but since my first success I have yet to DIE again....but the ring that is the really nice drop is semi rare...

I tried the EQdiva method....and it almost worked, no matter what i did Brood would not come up past the one way gate....actually brood would get stuck down the hallway. Brood's head would be running into this bar....i tried multiple times....then it dawned on me. Brood master is stuck! so i cleared the two mobs between brood and the gate so that i could begin to sit in comfort and dot it.......but he de-poped. ill try again with my 65 bard in 3 days i guess. I learned alot from my first encounter.ty for the guide

Guide is good to a point. A few patches back they made it to where you couldn't get to the succor point with out either going thru Torgiran or succoring. No way to pass the trap door or open it from the side the Broodmother is on. If there is a way I haven't found it yet and if anyone else knows please post.

i found a way. as a gnome, i walk to the top step under the trapdoor, and cast wood elf illusion(crown of deciet) that way, i pop out above the door.

Walk up, duck then stand, duck then stand. Do it fine with my barb
Pretty easy solo..
# Apr 01 2004 at 2:06 AM Rating: Decent
She's a fairly easy solo for a decently equiped druid with Inate Camo. Exodus helps, BA4 rules with all your high level dots (VoT, SD, IoR, Epic), and hopefully a c5. I'm not that well equipped. Self buffed like 3300 hps and about 5k mana pool, 4.5? /shrug. FT7 or so.

Pull everything to Torg zoneline (including ambassador to spawn her). Everything will wander off except the mobs you snare (ie Broodmother and Ambassador to spawn her).

DoT her to death, don't get hit she can quad for 490s, but with even so-so equipment, she'll never 1 round you let alone 2 if you are 65. There's really no reason to die once she is by herself at zoneline.

I have had no problems except for pulling I've died a couple times cause of weird geometry. I'm on test server and they are messing around with dx9 right now, so sometimes that stupid trap door is really difficult to reopen and I got dogpiled a couple times.

Very easy solo. Rot her after her buddies leave. The whole spawn sequence and everything from zone in to death of BM takes probably about 25 mins. Good luck!

Guilde for bard: kiting the Broddmother solo

Hello bards )

Here is the way to "chant kit" the Broodmother solo:

Kiting the Broodmother in Nadox walkthru :

What you need :
_ Run speed 3
_ Fading Memo (x2, better if x3)
_ Ervaj lost composition (mana drain) if adds (that you surely will have in the beginning)
=> or if you don’t have this song, remplace with a resist song (fire, cold, magic).

Song line up :
_ DoT chant x 4
_ Ervaj lost composition
_ Marr (or any heal song)
_ Invis
_ Resist song (fire, cold, magic)

MAP:HERE <= very important

First of all, you have to go check if the luggald ambassador is up in order to trigger the Broodmother.
Target it, send a DoT, cast invis and go back up to the « kiting aera ». Kill it and run to the zone or FM.
=> At this point the Luggald Broodmother will pop but is untargetable.

Invis up and go to the point A.
The path of the Bmother is the blue line. After 15 minutes or so, she will stop in front of you (big point blue) and will become targetable.
She is surrounded with 4 Luggald Archseeker (clerics) and 4 Luggald defender (tanks)

You will want to eliminate the clerics in the process (they will not heal the Bmother but cast nasty 620DD all the time).

Here is the way :

When at point A, move your cursor on your invis icon, click it, but do not stop your song (invis is back in max 6 sec).
As soon as the Bmother aggro : move to point B. Have the « npc spell on », when you see one of the Archseeker cast (sometime, if you are lucky 2 or 3 at a time will cast), run and wait 3 secondes then hit FM. You will be around the point B. (usually I continue running to avoid a DD wich can break invis). This will result with the loss of the Archseekers along the way.

Repeat the same from point B to point C.

At this point C many possibilities :

_ If you manage well, the Bmother will be at the entrance of the tunnel in your line of sight with just the defenders and all the Archseekers behind her on the way down.
=> The Bmother has a huge aggro range, so drop invis in the « kiting aera » and move slowly to the Bmother until she start chasing after you. Begin the normal chant kit.

_ You are in point C and there is 1 or 2 Archseekers still with the Bmother. If you have another FM you can train the Bmother at point C (with hope that Archseekers will cast) and hit FM in the center of the « kiting aera ». But I think most of the bard will be out of FM here.
=> (we will do with 2 Archseekers) Go invis target the 2. Go back to the « kiting aera » and drop invis, move slowly to the Bmother. If you are very lucky, (I was once :p), the Bmother will come alone. But normally everything will come after you.
You can :
_ chant kit the Bmother and twist resist + heal.
_ mana drain the 2 Archseekers (you can choose a special key to switch between your 2 last target) + heal with a string instrument then chant kit the Bmother. (The Archseekers will only cast once or twice when drained)

_ If you have more than 2 Archseekers : pray........

In any case, the kiting will last at least 10 minutes ! ! (I have IM3, TdoK and I kitt during 8-10 minutes to take her down without add)

And......voila !
Grats for the ring, the hammer, the boots or the shroud (for a friend :p )

Don’t shiver too much ! :))
Good luck all )

dont bother with all that mana draining and FMing multiple times...if u want to kite at point C on his map train them all there and as u go use Song of dawn to port those guys back to their bind then FM once u have done all three, run around playing Dawn switching targets (dont stop and restart song) until they all disapear, then FM.

Hello,

Just to say that the ring is not common, but "really" rare...
I "perma" killed her for 4 months now (every 3 days, and after every patch I killed her), and she only dropped the ring 3 times...

Good luck

Actually, I've been perma camping her for about 2 months now and I've got the ring now 11 out of 16 kills. 2 battlehammers and 3 boots. Maybe you just have bad luck but while the servers were resetting consantly during the "casino" days.. the broodmother was popping sometimes 5 times a day. couldn't sell the rings fast enough at times. Almost let 1 rot after one hastey kill.

Killed LB couple days ago (a level 65 druid can solo this mob if he/she knows how) and she was even to my level 59 cleric hydra (who was with me for the clearing to the trigger). Had a sham with me but i could have soloed her easy, sham just made it a little less time...

My group went down there to get this ring for my NEC. We watched a guild wipe to Innoruuk after they had cleared the room but left the Ambassador alone. He just kind of spawned on them while they were clearing the room, is this something new?

Also, after reading through all the posts, it sounds like BM has moved from over by the Torgiran zone to Upper Luggalds (according to eqatlas map). When did this happen and has anyone tried this event since then? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not only druids can play this game ;) Wizards can too.
Invis down to the ambassador. Go to the far corner by the boxes. Kill the mob standing by the boxes using root, snare, SoS, epic rune or force shield. Take the one closest to the ambassador doing the same. Just take your time as respawn are approx. 24 minutes. The ambassador is easier than the 2 others. Anyway when he is killed, the big luggald mamma spawns and goes around gathering troops and are untargetable.
Invis again and go meditate somewhere relative safe and watch the show.
After x minutes The Luggald Broodmother stops at the last tunnel, a zonewide message appears and she is targetable. Go up the tunnel and spam her with the staff of temp flux and run towards the lavazone, zone out, invis, zone in and go back until you see the Luggald Broodmother again. At this point she havent got any followers or only a few of them.
Temp flux again and run towards Torgiran zone. Do this a couple of times and you will have the **** outside the shrine. Only prob about this is getting the LB down from the plateua inside the shrine but its doable :)
I have pulled her 3 times from the "lair" to Torgirans mine. The 2 first times I had only 1 follower and the third none.
My first time I had 1 lvl65 bard and some lowlevel dude waiting at Torgiran zone to help out with the actual kill. Spiritmaster's Shroud dropped. Grats my necro twink :)
Second time I tried to solo all the way. Unfortunately broodmother got stuck inside the shrine and I died trying to get it out and my damn AA exodus failed :) I returned, looted my corpse, got it out but I was out of luck as I had probs controlling both one follower and the broodmother at the same. I died again and at some point the mob depopped.
Third time I had a druid mate with me. We invissed in, killed ambassador and company and evacced. I went back waiting for broodmother to become targetable. Pulled like described above. This time without any followers and without too much hassle inside the shrine. The druid snared, dotted and rooted and I nuked. Easy peasy. This time she dropped the hammer...which was obvious as she had it in her hand during the fight. Grats some twink from our guild :)
Next time I will try this solo again :)
