The M class clockworks are slightly tougher than the C class clocks. They have a small chance of dropping Metalite, which makes them prime hunting for both shadowknights and Paladins.
Like all clockworks they have a high resistance to magic and fire.
The MC clockworks come with a "frost module" which gives them an extra attack of cold. While not as annoying as the force attack, it can make them more difficult to fight.

I have entered sol to loot and get exp...the clockworks are all blue (dark and light) to my level 40 paladin...I have killed probably 50 and have 3 melatite or blocks to show for it...one earring off Singhe (spell) one charred gaurdian bp and 2 shields....and one hell of a lot of fine steel weapons off the gobbies here....with the exp bonus (13% im told)...I went a 40..came almost 42 in 5 hours of solo camping not too far in...but..back to work...need 8 pieces of melatite for the complete ro armor outfit...good hunting all! Truebeliever, Paladin of the 41st level, and Defender of Truth!

Give a loc on these guys, just so we know how far into the dungeon we have to go. That would be the most helpfull thing.

OK, I was down in SolA last night whacking clockworks, and yes they do drop the melatite still. We killed in the neigborhood of 50-60 clocks, but only the models MB and MC drop the melatite. We aquired 2 pieces of melatite which went to me, seeing as though I was the only Paladin/SK in the group. And those 50-60 we killed were a mix of all of them, not just the MB and MC models. I plan to make my first piece of Ro armor here real soon. I'll probably do the Gauntlets first, because they are nice. BP will be second if I can ever get those god aweful cooks.

The White Cross killed about 150 CWG last wednesday (12th July '00) and got 3 pieces of Meletite! What the SMEG is up with that! Come on Verant that's ridiculous.

I have heard rumors that since the patch to make the Shadow Knight, Paladin and Cleric quests easier that no one has seen hide nor hair of this CW and from what I have heard rarely drop the Melatite that Paladins and Shadow Knights so covet. So What I was to know is, does anyone know if there is any truth to this rumor?

Don't forget the rangers out there. They require melatite also to make the ronium for their ivy etched boots. :)

Killing the Kobolds in Sol-B raises your faction with the Solusek Mining Co... so if you hunt these guys for Melatite, head over to the Sol-B enterance area and help kill Kobolds for awhile.

They are agressive to me (a Troll)... Actually, they are on the Ak'Anon faction, so I would assume that they are only agressive to people that are KOS there. They don't care if you kill goblins or not, but if both are aggressive to you the goblin shamen will heal the CWG's. They are located near the Gnomes... in the NE area of SolA. Also, be careful if you are KOS to them, they see through invisibility, as do the C series. As for Melatite, I have one that actually dropped off of a CA, so I know that it does still drop at least...
