Bishop the Scorned

a rare creature

Note: For all map points of nameds in Morell's Castle (for "morellcastle.txt" map files), see this quest entry.

Bishop the Scorned spawns inside the ship (top level of the inside of the ship). His PHs are any of the pirates with "scorned" in their names.

He hits for a max ~14,000. Be warned that aggro can be odd in this area of the zone, leading to much larger mob assist ranges than normal (and awkward pathing which may cause a train).

My experience with this camp

It seems that any mob with "scorned" in its title is a ph for this named. I have gotten Bishop to spawn from 6 out of the 7 "scorned" spawn points.

I would agree with the previous poster about removing any form of levitation on all of your characters, mercs, and pets. Leaving levitation on is asking for trouble.

Finally, I recommend setting up camp in the first room you come to that has scorned mobs in it. Kill those two mobs, leaving time between the kills, then proceed to move into and clear the last 2 rooms with scorned mobs. In the middle room with 3 scorned mobs, each of those can be killed without aggroing the others if you invis and move your group close to them before engaging. Hint: Kill the first one you see upon entering the room, then the one to your immediate right, then the far one all by itself near the opening to the final room. After killing the last 2 scorned mobs in the final room (the one with the bunkbeds) just invis and head back to wait for respawns in the first room.

Bishop himself is pretty easy for a named. GL :)

I've been camping Bishop for quite a few weeks now (off and on greater than 15 hours). I have killed him 5 times and he has dropped the shoulders every time. (all but one pair rotted as no one wants to try to run to the ship and back, the portals are one way).

The most recent post is accurate on dealing with the spawns. Note, if Bishop spawns you should invis, charge him and fight him in place. It's very difficult to pull anything in this zone as the sloped floor makes pathing just stupid. Even a pet sent to attack a mob will frequently leave the room altogether before finally coming back to properly attack.

This ship has probably the worst pathing i have seen in my 11ish years playing EQ. For example a mezzed mob standing directly in the middle of the group wakes up, and instead of hitting somebody it takes off running up into the ship proceeding to bring about 6 more mobs back with it before it decides to hit somebody. Place is terrible to fight in.

You would think Sony could make it a bit better, but then they are lazy and don't really care.. heh

I gave up on the shoulders for my necro and chanter for the same reason. Agro 1 mob, get 3 ... not such a big deal. My war pushed a mob through the door by the library area and the mob warped upstairs....and summoned my warrior upstairs and agroed 2 more mobs and then all hell broke loose and I said F this and gated, rezzed and it's just stupid.

OK, just killed him (spawn immediately following my prior post) so here is some more info:

In the ship, in the middle level there is a room with book cases in it. In that room are two mobs and one tucked away in an alcove. That alcove is the spot in the photo of Bishop. So he spawns in the alcove. But I also just killed him from the other spawn - the one directly across from the door.

I sat in the Southeast corner of the room and killed those three mobs. In general its a safe place. I had aggro a few times but not during a fight- just from looting.

Bishop has a much larger aggro radius than the other mobs and he sees invis. As soon as he spawned he charged me in the SE corner. Caught me by surprise but he wasn't a bad fight.

The picture and coordinates listed are for the middle level of the ship, NOT the bottom level.

The ship has essentially three levels: the hold, where you enter from the whirlpool, the middle level with the crew rooms and the upper outside levels.

Rasper's is excellen about placeholders and lists a Scorned Marauder (gnome) as the PH. Unlike other PH in this expansion, these change. For example, the giant veterans in SS are always in the same exact spot. This camp is the only one unlike that: the location spawn different mobs randomly each time. I am not sure yet which exact one is the best/confirmed spawn. I will post an update. It is absolutely, however on the middle level.

Also the assist radius is weird. They aggro longer distance than they assist. I died twice while lootin ga corpse but never from a pull-add.
