Artisan is the basic tradeskill profession for all new characters. Upon reaching tradeskill level 9 you make a decision to become one of the three subclasses: Craftsman, Outfitter, or Scholar.

To get through the first 9 levels (commonly called "Tier 1"), and learn the basics of harvesting and crafting, we highly recommend the Tradeskill Tutorials Quest Series
