Talk to Skrit at Sapwill's Rest to start the quest series that you need to do, as a prerequisite, to receive the Daily Quests from Skrit. I did this at level 94. The quest series will lead you back to Skrit to get the Grim Running quest. Have an assortment of 96-105 harvests in your bag, to save time, doing prerequisite crafting quests.. Also have some effulgent fuel.

If the Grimmling Runner does not drop the pattern for you on the first try, delete the quest, then go back to Skrit and get it again.
The Rallic Pack Pattern is not guaranteed to drop during Grim Running, it is a chance drop.
