I to have left WS. I made it to 50 but felt the attunement process was not "hard core" and was just a waste of my time to, as you said, get to part of the game I wanted to see (raids). I changed up and stepped into PvP (BGs), but hit the gear wall. Not able to get a decent RBG group, or find an RBG group, I basically hit my gear limit.
It is a fun game, and I may come back to it ... someday.
