Rise of the Hutt Cartel Goes Free to Subscribers

Star Wars: The Old Republic will have its first digital expansion as a new benefit.

Starting on Thursday, September 12, 2013, active subscribers to Star Wars: The Old Republic will receive the first digital expansion, Rise of the Hutt Cartel, free of charge as a newly added benefit to the Subscriber Rewards Program.

Players who have already purchased Rise of the Hutt Cartel and are an active subscriber on September 12 at 4:00AM PDT (11:00AM GMT) will receive a new title, "The Risen," via in-game mail on or before September 25, 2013 as appreciation for the purchase. Subscribers who have purchased Rise of the Hutt Cartel between August 11, 2013 and September 12, 2013 at 9:00AM PDT (4:00PM GMT) will be granted 1050 Bonus Cartel Coins, which will be granted by September 13, 2013 at 9:00AM PDT (4:00PM GMT), in appreciation for their recent purchase.

Bounty Contract Week is now live for players level 15 and up. The Bounty Brokers Association needs you! The BBA has taken in too many contracts for their regular membership to handle and is asking anyone Level 15 and above to answer the call of bounty hunting. Sign up, track these dangerous criminals, and prove your skills by bringing them to justice. After proving yourself with the BBA, some high-profile targets or "Kingpins" contracts will become available to you, meaning greater rewards!

Whether you decide to do it for credits or justice, it doesn’t matter. Help the BBA reduce its long list of contracts between September 10-17, 2013 and you will be greatly rewarded for your efforts.

So prepare your favorite weapons, visit BBA representatives on Carrick Station or Vaiken Spacedock, and let the scum (and credits) hunt begin!

I wonder if they plan on dropping the price soon then. The price was always about 2x as much as the content was worth, which I understand they needed to do to make subscribers feel like they were getting value.(when in reality they just weren't getting screwed like the F2P people, but in SWTOR subscriber value is "hey at least we aren't those guys")

If the price is actually brought down to a reasonable level I may have to actually pick it up.

I've never had a problem paying to play this game. So far TOR and Rift are the only ones that have held my attention long enough to make me even consider paying a subscription fee.
