EverQuest: The Darkened Sea Fully Launches

EverQuest's 21st expansion, The Darkened Sea, was released today for Free-to-Play members. The Standard Edition costs $39.99, and the Collector's Edition with several in-game bonus items costs $89.99.

On a mission to restore balance to Norrath, heroine Firiona Vie travels to Katta Castrum, a city in the Buried Sea, to heal the Combine Emperor, Tsaph Katta. However, a corrupt splinter faction of the Combine, along with the treacherous Lanys T'vyl, attacks the city and kidnaps the Combine ruler. It is up to the heroes of Norrath to track down Lanys and her compatriots, rescue the Emperor and put an end to whatever designs Lanys has planned for Norrath.

You may also be interested in this topic on the EQ Forums (posted this evening by Phathom) regarding developer thoughts about how they will handle heroic adventure lockouts (the original plan for which was not received particularly well).

It's likely that the patch will decommission Lucy's Item Collector for a period of time. We'll have that back up and running again as soon as possible, and then items will start piling into the database (many have already have found their way into the database - an update to that effect will be posted some time Tuesday).

As always, if you have any information you'd like to contribute to the site here, just leave a comment on one of the items, quests, NPC, zone pages, etc. or drop us a line at eqteam@allakhazam.com, and we'll get it updated.

Thank you, happy hunting, and try to avoid being eaten by the dinosaur contingent.
