Iddo Goldberg cast as Dr. T.O. Morrow, who creates (and also cast as) Red Tornado, a super advanced android developed for the US Army, and Glenn Morshower as General Sam Lane to Supergirl show. Netflix adds Rosario Dawson and Theo Rossi to the crew of Luke Cage. Liev Shrieber, who I always believe to be female when I hear the name, namedrops "Old Man Logan" as the next Wolverine film, but adds that he hasn't been approached for the sequel so uncomfirmed to the nth level rumor. Though, most rumors regarding the movie suggest it'll be OML, which would be neat.

Steve Jobs' life model decoy Steven Spielberg predicts superhero movies will "Go the way of the Western," which I don't necessarily disagree with. Unlike the actual characters, actors age and it becomes a game of casting and recasting which makes it all but impossible to make ridiculously long comic like storylines to last more than a decade or two at best, which in turn requires reboots. Fantastic Four, and to a degree Spider-Man, both prove that you can only realy go to that well so often before someone pees in it. I imagine it'll go more Zombie movie than Western, though. They'll be spread out far more than they are now, or maybe all transfer to TV/Netflix shows.
CBR, on MCU development changes wrote:
Following the announcement that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will now report directly to Disney Studio Chief Alan Horn instead of Marvel Entertainment CEO Isaac Perlmutter, word is circulating from BirthMoviesDeath that the Marvel Creative Committee has disbanded.

The group, which once oversaw the development of Marvel Studios productions, included members like President of Marvel Entertainment Alan Fine, superstar comics writer Brian Michael Bendis, Marvel Comics publisher Dan Buckley and Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada. The Committee would offer notes and thoughts on projects as they developed from script to screen.

Though Marvel's films have been almost unanimously embraced by audiences worldwide, BirthMoviesDeath reports that the Committee was a source of frustration for many working on the productions, focusing "on details of nit-picky science that ignored the general tone of the script itself" and causing director Edgar Wright to depart the "Ant-Man" film. Additionally, as many of the Committee members hold other important jobs within the publisher, this process was often slow and affected the work of the filmmakers.

"Captain America: Civil War" and perhaps "Doctor Strange" will likely be the last films overseen by the Committee and Perlmutter. Feige, Louis D'Esposito and Victoria Alonso will now reportedly helm the projects without the Committee's influence as the studio shifts gears and heads into Phase Three.

A version of the Committee may survive at Marvel TV, according to BirthMoviesDeath, as that division remains under Perlmutter's control.
Could be neat.

Simone Missick cast as Misty Knight in Luke Cage, which is strange as I think she should be in Iron Fist. Maybe she'll be the crossover element linking the two shows together and introducing us to the Heroes for Hire Defenders? She better not be Luke's love interest, that's all I'm saying. Smiley: mad Continuing Marvel news, Mark Ruffalo says that the Hulk won't be in Captain America: Civil War, stating Marvel doesn't want to reveal what the Not-So-Jolly Green Giant is up to after Age of Ultron. Kind of a shame, considering Thunderbolt Ross is going to be around and those two really need to interact.

It kills time. Also there's some DC stuff sprinkled in there. Smiley: crymore

We've got Mahershala Ali on deck as villain Cornell Cottonmouth to villainify Luke Cage. Much more telling then most casting, as this pretty much directs us to Serpent Society, which in itself is kind of spiffy. Not that Hydra are big time villain organizations, regardless of what the movies try to play them up as, but this particular snake squad is about the same. Which doesn't exactly sound exciting when put that way, but hey, maybe we'll get Black Mamba, Asp, and Diamondback in the mix. Smiley: inlove Oh, and I guess Rattler, Death Adder, Cobra, and Sidewinder. And a bunch of other snake themed C-listers.

Also, apparently Arrow is going to have Diggle become Magneto.

Stephen Rider joins Daredevil as an ally attorney named Blake Tower. Also, did I mention how much I like Jon Bernthal?

In Civil War news, there's been a lot of talk about how Chris Evans wanting to step back from acting to direct, which brought up "concerns" on his future as Captain America. So far he's contracted for six movies, and he's already done five. Well, recently he told Collider "Listen, if Marvel wants me, they got me." He went on to say "I've never had such a relationship where you have such -- I mean, look at my resume, I'm used to being on set being like, 'Ah is this movie gonna be terrible?' Marvel just can't stop making great movies, they do it in their sleep. It's wonderful directors and producers and actors and scripts, and it's like a playground as an actor." He told Entertainment Tonight "It always feels so good to kind of wrap and just say, 'Alright, one more down.' But it's also kind of like high school in a sense. You keep looking to when you're going to be done, and we're almost done now, and you're not quite ready for it to be over." So hey, maybe more Cap Evans after Infinity War? Also, here's a picture Holland uploaded to his Instagram of his Spider-Man costume.

Oh, and that whole Marvel Creative Committee disbanding thing? Yeah, turns out that isn't entirely true after all. Just being shrunk down a little. I was kind of looking forward to seeing Joe Quesidilla not be involved in things, but apparently a few of them will remain on board to work on continuity details and such.

Arrow Season 4 Trailer / Sizzle Reel

Batman v Superman Batmobile. The thing is getting weirder and weirder with every new reboot.

Agents of SHIELD Season 3 Teaser Promo. Poots' gauntlets look neat, angry Fitz is always a plus, and Mac being angry at Gordon is good. The lack of May, Coulson's hand, and Sparky Sparky Boom Man the electricity Inhuman slash doctor wannabe from last season is a bit annoying. I'm not sure what to make of Lash's silhouette. Needs light, I guess.

Preacher gets an official premiere month, May 2016. Zack Snyder says that Spielberg might not be wrong with his assessment of the downfall of superhero flicks, which is a pretty convenient excuse to have in your back pocket should your big budget summer blockbuster movie not do as well as expected.

As the record shows, reality tv sucks. However, Bruce Campbell is the greatest actor of our time, and he's producing and hosting a horror-based reality tv competition type show called "Bruce Campbell's Horrified!"
excerpt interview wrote:
From where I’m sitting, this is the first time a reality series has melded competition and comedy with the fun and fear of the horror genre,” Campbell told Deadline. “It’s a sweet spot I love and to pull it off takes a team of creative, industrious and slightly insane people — which is, of course, why I wanted to do it!”
Teaser for Netflix's Jessica Jones starring Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage and David Tennant as Kilgrave, "Jessica Jones" arrives on Netflix on November 20.

As far as Luke Cage, still adding more people to the cast as Frank Whaley has been added as Detective Rafael Scarfe.

Hmmm... Stylish hawk masks. Tight, form fitting leather hawk outfits. Cool looking "hawk smash!" club. Not sure what you're getting at here.

The wings are key details of these characters. It'd be like Spider-Man without webs, Wolverine without claws, or someone whose power is immunity to dying through evolution dying. Smiley: mad The whole "realistic" angle has been blown anyway, since Arrow is in the same universe as Flash, and this isn't even Arrow but Legends of Tomorrow. Maybe they'll CG them in for flight scenes and a wing like backpack for regular scenes. Otherwise it just looks like a costume with a dumb hat, and Diggle already occupies that niche.

I'm thinking that the wings will be retractable. And maybe not revealed right away, or often (CG Budget, etc). The hawk woman has those shoulder pad looking things, could be used to hide a retractable wing.

I'd be okay with that. I just don't want the cheap greenscreen wire-fu flight that Atom does. Speaking of, Iron Man Knockoff better start shrinking, is all I'm sayin'.

Rachel McAdams confirms role in Doctor Strange, though no confirmation as to what role that will be beyond "opposite of Bandicoot Cactuspatch. Rumor and nerd speculation has pointed to the movie being based around the 2006 Strange series "The Oath," so if that is the case then one could conclude that she'll play a version of Linda Carter, the Night Nurse, who was his love interest. Though a lot of people would also argue that Night Nurse was Rosario Dawson's character in Daredevil on Netflix. Whatever she may be, she's still among the least weird looking of the cast, and I'd be remiss to not comment on the missed opportunity to cast James Hong as the Ancient One. YOU MISSED ON THAT ONE, MARVEL.Smiley: mad

In Walking Dead news, possible Jesus sighting on the set.

Jeph Loeb and Cheo Hodari Coker confirmed Simone Missick as Misty Knight on Netflix's Luke Cage, to no one's surprise. Now the only question left is whether she'll have the afro and sassy 70s blaxploitation attitude that made her such an amazing character. Oh, and I guess the Stark-made RoboArm and skin tight outfight. Also with the awesome, Scott Glenn to return as Stick to Daredevil next season for three episodes, which is great as at least one of those episodes should address the end of his episode where he was talking to Stone's shadowy silhouette.

In the other direction, what seems to be the cursed production of Gambit hits another snag, as director Rupert Wyatt leaves citing scheduling conflicts.

DC & Warner Bros to develop a Booster Gold/Blue Beetle movie directed by Greg Berlanti, the guy behind Arrow and The Flash on TV. If it's more Flash and less Felicity Arrow, and avoids the whole "realistic grim drama" that is currently plaguing Superman, then it might be cool. Friends get into shenanigans is always good.

Ernie Hudson to appear in Feig's Ghostbusters reboot, which brings the total of original Ghostbusters to three, which is a pretty good number to be at considering the fourth is indisposed for the foreseeable future. Iddo Goldberg as Dr T.O. Morrow and Red Tornado, half the names being stupid by any stretch of the imagination. Looks like Age of Ultron Vision, but more tomato and less watermelon.

Gotham Season 2 starts up tonight, along with the premiere of Minority Report right after.

Rob Liefeld says that Colossus looks great in the upcoming Deadpool movie, which I guess means his feet will always be hidden behind conveniently placed hills and debris.

Don Watts, not to be confused with an elderly landlord who thinks one of his tenants living with two women is gay but the director of the upcoming Spider-Man reboot starring Tom Holland, confirms Peter's age to be 15. He also states that it won't be an origin story, claiming correctly that "There are only so many times you can kill Uncle Ben."

Confirmed, more or less, as Tom Payne cast as Paul "Jesus" Monroe. One of the better characters added to the books since even before the Jail arc, and pretty much one of the better characters until the Whisperers. His nickname comes from his appearance, and his knack for saving people. Should be interesting to watch.

In "Legends of Tomorrow," we've got Stephanie Corneliussen as Valentine Volstak, the Negative Woman. Which ... I guess is like Wonder Woman, but lacking curiosity and generally pessimistic.

For the record, Gotham Season 2 premiere was better than most of Gotham Season 1 in it's entirety, Minority Report was kind of boring, Muppets was ... well, The Office if the characters had hands up their butts, so exactly like The Office, and Scream Queens was actually an enjoyable watch. Next week we get Agents of SHIELD back, so the Fall lineup is up and swinging.

I am stuck in a hotel again (three weeks this time), with limited cable access and a different town/time zone so all my channels and times are screwed up. Also, again, no BBC and no CW. So Doctor Who and Flash are going to have to be either watched when I get home or watched online if I think about it.

I did try to watch Gotham yesterday, but got distracted by some games instead. I have everything set to record. Except Minority Report, which I forgot to record. But waiting three weeks will give me time to get some reviews before I tune in.

I see previews for the Flash on the TV here, even though there is no CW channel. Seems to me like Flash and Legends will be closely linked with this next storyline. Something about the Singularity from last season finale opening up wormholes and alternate dimensions. I was only half paying attention and without a DVR I can't rewind when something interesting comes on (First world problems...).

Over the last few trips I kind of decided that it was too much of a hassle to try and watch everything on the hotel cable. No HD, messed up/missing channels, and time zone changes made it annoying.

Yeah, the stuff Barry did during the season finale and a few episodes into the new season directly spin off into Legends of Tomorrow. I keep reading reports how Wells Reverse Flash will still be around in some capacity, and since he was great I find that to be positive news. Three weeks isn't so bad, the season doesn't really pick up for another two when Flash and Arrow pick back up and the other dozen shows. You can probably skip Minority Report, unless you really liked the movie.

Quickly now: Sony plans to bring "Men in Black," without Will Smith. Chris Morgan, who wrote Fast & Furious to produce a contemporary update of the 1980s superteam "The A-Team," without Leslie Nelson for almost the same reason as Will Smith. Peter Francis James, best known as a Barack Obama life model decoy gone into showbiz, cast into "Legends of Tomorrow," as someone close to the Wingless Hawkpeople. Huge Actoman, only known as Wolverine, says that Tom Hardy would be a great Wolverine. Which, I guess I can't really argue considering how good a fighter Wolverine is and Hardy as Bane looked so great in those fight scenes. Yes, that was sarcasm. John Wick is getting a sequel, which is great if you've always wondered what a highly skilled assassin does the day after someone kills his dog. I kid, that movie was pretty good, considering the plank of plywood it starred.

Finally, enjoy this. It'll be $18 on PC and $20 on XBox One.

Ruhh!

I liked Minority Report (not sure if I really liked it though). Neat concept, good execution IMO. The TV series basically picks up where the film left off. Pre-crime has closed, crime is up, and the precogs are in hiding (or being hidden? Not clear), but one of them decides to get involved in helping fight crime. So basically your classic buddy crime fighter story, with one cop and a person with some special powers/abilities/whatever. Been done many times before (and frankly twice this season if you count limitless, which is the same thing only with an addictive/deadly drug ex machina complete with contrived, and somewhat mixed message lampshade, as to why it's ok for this guy to use drugs to enhance himself). Of the two, I suspect Minority Report will be more interesting. Entirely depends on the writing though.

Yeah. Surprisingly good, and with just enough "this worlds a bit different than ours" feel to it to make it work. It was one of the two films I watched with my comped Cinepolis tickets during what was otherwise a really dry spell for films (Fury being the other). Not sure I would have paid to see it, but at "free" it certainly exceeded my expectations (I'm not normally a huge fan of *-fu type films).

Very much looking forward to Agents returning. Yay! Gotham was actually pretty darn cool (looks like they're aiming at some seriously fun stuff). So yeah, fall lineup is looking pretty decent.

There's also Blindspot, which I only know through commercials with the amnesiac woman who helps solve crimes that are some how linked with her tattoos. And maybe Rosewood? Guy with some major health issue and huge chest scar that looks similar to Forever with Ioan Gruffudd that got canceled and I'm still bitter over. A lot of Investigation Dramas, really. I'll probably give Minority Report a second watch, provided it isn't during something else I actually want to see.

Now, adding to the list of peole you're going to call, we've got Sigourney Weaver and Annie Pots back for the new Ghostbusters movie. I believe the original cast now outnumbers the new one. On the topic, director Paul Feig recently struck back at people that aren't fond of the remake, telling them that they should "embrace a new generation getting their own version," and to "just let this movie happen." One, I don't think there's ever been a remake "for a new generation" that wasn't just a shoddy movie with a ton of name dropping. Maybe My Little Pony. Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Nightmare on Elm Street (Which is getting another remake), Friday the 13th and GI Joe come to mind immediately. So I think it's fair for people to be wary and resistant to remakes. Second, it's not like anyone has a choice in "letting the movie happen." I know I wasn't asked. "Just let it happen" sounds like a line a psychopath tells his victim as he slowly chokes them to death.

Speaking of movies that are being made for a new generation that I wasn't consulted on, the Crow remake hits another bump in that it may lose Corin Hardy, the director. This after the movie's studio, Relativity Media, filed for bankruptcy, and will most likely lose the rights to the movie if they don't start shooting in the next year and a half. A difficult task, lacking money and the original star Jack Huston having left last June.

Is it Halloween yet? Smiley: motz

I think there's a difference between making a film based off a TV series (or vice versa) and just flat out remaking a film (or rebooting a film series). But yeah, there have been a ton of those. Some of them "ok", most of them pretty bad and obviously just made for the name/marketing.

David Ramsey, Diggle of Arrow as more people would recognize, comments on his costume. "I like it," Ramsey said. "I know there's a lot of criticism that it looks like the Magneto helmet. But by the time you see Diggle in action -- we also get into what the helmet can do -- you won’t be thinking of the X-Men at all. There is a very cool gun too. The gun and the helmet, by the way, are S.T.A.R. Labs creations." Don't bet on it, Mr Ramsey.

Cameron Monaghan, who is totally not Joker guys seriously, has taken over Gotham as "best character."

Blindspot seems to have done well enough to pick up an additional nine episodes.

Agents of SHIELD picks up tonight, if anyone needed a reminder.

That would be Lash. Leader of a rival Inhuman group, came out after the Terrigen Mist was released all over the world. Believes that terrigenesis is a sacred transformation, reserved for those worthy and any who take part in it outside of that ritual deserve to die. Basically early Magneto. The costume for the show kind of sucked, but I guess they needed the budget to do a five minute scene in Morocco.

It was okay. Fitz seems to get a new personality quirk every season. I enjoyed seeing the axe from the last season hanging in Coulson's office wall. Simmons showing up at the end running for her life on a world that conveniently could sustain human life is probably going to link Guardians of the Galaxy to the MCU. I'm still predicting she becomes Moonstone because I really liked her in Thunderbolts and no real basis for the prediction beyond "space rock."

In other news, Vanessa Williams, who was also in the Candyman movies, has been cast as Iris' mother in The Flash.
