Great movie adaptation of a great Dean Koontz story. I was expecting some half-assed product like some of the Stephen Kings movie adaptations, but this one delivered. I would even recommend it to people who haven't read the books.

Odd Thomas is played by Anton Yelchin (the Russian guy from the new Star Trek movies), the Chief is played by Willem Dafoe, and Stormy is played by the actress who played the role of a scantly clad wannabe actress who banged Agent Mulder in Californication (Addison Timlin).

Had some issues trying to adjust to Yelchin's voice, since I was expecting him to reply with "Yes, Captain" in a thick Russian accent every other sentence, but he did a good job, in my opinion, of portraying the character, both in the funny and emotional scenes. Willem Dafoe was doing a good job of portraying Willem Dafoe, although I caught myself wishing he'd yell "THERE WAS A FIREFIGHT!" in a scene or two. Timlin was adorable as Stormy and the chemistry between her and Yelchin was great.

Trailer:

Spoiler is for people who know how it ends.
Stormy's death reveal was very well done. Hit me like a ten ton hammer, to be honest. I wasn't sure if I'd ever read the book, but when that scene came around, I knew. A solid 9 out of 10 on the Kleenex scale.
