I watched a bunch of movies this weekend....

A Beginners Guide to Endings - Three brothers think they're dying because of some miscommunications with their recently deceased father. It was ok cept the ending. It was worth the time to watch it. ***

The Warriors - Yes, the 1979 movie. It's still as awesome as ever. lalala...in the city. Funny thing is when I first saw this movie on it's release I was a fully suburbanized 17 year old. I then was under the impression that the movie a realistic portrayal of gang-life in NYC. It's a compelling pursuit plot-line made spectacular by settings and gangs and music - and the DJ. Even the little romance story is just the right amount. If you've not seen it - you must. *****

Life of Pi - I never read the book, so can't compare the two, but I liked the movie. Good story, good screen play. The tiger was really good, as were the other animals. I bet it would have been fun in 3-D. ****

Beasts of the Southern Wild - This was a hard movie to watch. It was reality and non-reality and imaginings and child perceptions all mixed up together with very obscure lines of demarcation. There was lots of angry, and some cute and even a bit of interesting musings from Hushpuppy, the main character. Hushpuppies father was a dynamite actor but played such a sad angry character it made me uncomfortable. ***

We kept meaning to get Mud on PPV but we (the hubby and I) never got our timing to sync up.

I too was disappointed when I learned that there weren't gangs of Lesbians roving throughout the 5 Boroughs.

I assumed the lesson was that all the white gangs were supplanted by Hispanic and Black gangs because they had guns and we had circus clowns and hillbillies on rollerskates.

The Lizzies are only really around Union Square.

Really? I thought the Tribeca would their turf.
