After the Doctor Who premiere last night, BBC America showed the first two episodes of their new show Copper. Tonight the third episode comes on (Followed by the 1st, 2nd, and the 3rd again, in case you missed them).

I figured I'd tune in and watch since I wasn't watching anything, and I was pleasantly surprised. An Irish Immigrant cop in New York in the 1860s. A friend who is a the son of a very wealthy man, and another friend who is a free black man (and the "forensics" of the group).

The first two episodes contained some relatively mature subject matter Rape/Murder/Necrophilia involving a 10 year old girl.. Like Law and Order SVU stuff. I'm hoping the series has a more central story and doesn't end up being a week by week "who dun it" Law and Order styled drama. I expect it will be more though, right now the main character (the Irish cop) seems pretty focused on finding who killed his daughter and where his wife is (at least, I think his wife is missing, I know his daughter was dead).
