Apparently Dish is in the process of cutting AMC from their lineup. While I don't have it, I'm sure some people do which means you won't be able to see, amongst other shows, Mad Men and more importantly Walking Dead. Which is heading towards season 3 with Michonne and The Jail, which means you'll be missing what is bound to be the best season of the show. Best season of any show maybe.

There's a petition-esque page if you're interested in doing something about trying to convince them otherwise.

That's weird considering they just moved the channel to 9609 and IFC to 9607. To the petition!

Yeah, I saw the commercial for this during Mad Men (which is the only show I follow these days). Obviously AMC has the bully pulpit in this case since they can say "Dish is gonna cut your shows" when the reality is that AMC won't release their programming for what Dish is willing to pay and Dish won't broadcast AMC for what AMC wants to be paid. But, in the end, AMC has the stronger chip since people just want to see their stuff.

I have Comcast though so pbbbhhttt to all of 'em.

Meh, never saw Mad Men, and I've gotten thoroughly tired of zombies. I won't miss the channel.

It happens all the time.

I'm sure it'll all be resolved right near the deadline, and AMC will come out slightly ahead in their negotiations because of their ability to spread their side of the story quickly and easily (It's all over the Walking Dead's facebook page).

A year or so ago Dish Network was in negotiations with FoxSports. It was in the middle of summer, so I lost some of my hometown baseball season. Which really didn't matter because they were way out of it anyway. It got resolved in a few weeks, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. That being said, I don't believe I watch anything on AMC.

On my way to work this morning, I heard a radio commercial "Important message about AMC.. blah, blah... Dish network... Mad Men, Walking Dead, Breaking Bad... yadda yadda..." except this one was followed up by "So order Xfinity today to keep watching!"
