The first time I saw the preview & thought they had made a Rock Em' Sock Em' Robots movie like they made the Battleship one.

If it didn't take itself seriously, it might have been a decent movie. But alas, they made a ****** one instead.

Next up for Hugh Jackman; making Wolverine suck some more, possibly in Japan.

I'm sure everyone that has ever seen a rock em sock robot toy thought the same thing with Real Steel.

Hell first time I seen it was for a oil ad and thought damn high production values on commercials these days. Wasn't till a couple days latter did I seen the the whole real preview.

Necroing this.

Bored on a friday night and having a 10 spot that might had been better to use to light a cigar, but seen this instead. They do give a little nod to Rock em sock em in one of the fights with a head poping off a robot but not the full on toy version. It rips almost everything you ever seen in a boxing movie off and does it with a robot. The plot is well basic and can be seen for what it was as soon as the kid comes into it. Robot Jox did it much better and with bigger robots and no need for a crappy father, son plot.
