So I just finished The Omen Machine by Terry Goodkind, overall a good read (Better then Law of Nines). If your a fan of The Sword of Truth (The book series, not the god awful TV series), It feels like an extension of the universe. The characters are familiar, the settings and pacing are about the same as the rest of the series, overall a good read.
Goodkind did a good job of keeping the story going without "Lets take Kahlan away to make Richard do something" while maybe there was a small part of the book later on, It wasnt a completely the whole books plot device, which I liked. One thing i didn't like is the end felt kinda rushed, and Its the start of a new 'series' which means it ends with a few threads still untied.
Overall even with SoT ending with a 'happy' ending its nice to see the author still filling out the world, and showing there's more to it then what saw in SoT. I'm happy he's still writing these because even SoT didnt tie up every end, and hopefully the new books can answer all the questions.
