I've been on a horror manga kick recently, and just started reading "Franken Fran." Pretty much one of the most disturbing and graphic series I've ever read - it's like a train wreck that appalls me, but I just can't stop looking at it. I think the genre is actually "Guro," which is basically "F*cked up sh*t." But the series has a pretty good dark comedy vibe going that has me laughing as often as I'm grossed out. My favorite chapter so far is 26, because it has the Flying Spaghetti Monster as the punchline.

Anyway, wondering if anyone else has read this series? It's on mangafox but I'm not going to link it because it really isn't appropriate. Search for it if you're interested Smiley: tongue

Blah If its not on the first or 2nd page its fair game, not as if this board moves so fast we can't keep up.

Sounds interesting. Is the series complete or ongoing ? I have way to many ongoing manga atm so I'm trying to limit them.

Its not complete, and it seems pretty slow to update. The chapters are stand alone, so it being complete isn't so much an issue if you ask me. Its one of those things that is good when you're not in the mood for heaviness. You don't need to remember what happened last chapter in regards to the next, except for really broad things (like minor characters reappearing once in a while). I tend to read it in between episodes of the big three as a little break.

Goredy. Off the wall gross and humorous at the same time. Makes it pretty damn unpredictable.

I read it for a while, but stopped right around the time that I think the dark haired woman sent to assassinate Fran, if I remember right, ended up joining her? It's been so long since I've read it I've forgot most of what happened. I just remember the man with a small dog's body, and the bandaged woman full of spare organs.

Assassin is her sister, and that chapter was hilarious because the "evil" assassin seemed more human than the "compassionate" Fran. I loved the sister's expressions in that chapter as it shows how horrified she is!

And the head-on-dog guy is actually a head-on-cat. I mistook it too... or maybe they changed it at some point?
