I watched the first episode of this earlier and all I can say is, wtf? Is there some secret previous season I don't know about? (afaik there isn't)

The anime starts at around chapter 30 of the manga and just throws you right into the middle of the story and expects you to already know who these people are and what's going on. There's absolutely no explanation of who the characters are or why they act the way the do or why they're doing the things they're doing. Absolutely nothing.

It was decent episode, but if I hadn't already read that far into the manga I would have had absolutely no clue wtf was going on and probably wouldn't watch any more of the show.

Sounds like a potentially intriguing story, although ANN had it tagged slice of life at the very least it's not four or five air headed young girls in an after school club right? At the very worst it can't be more awful than the Kashimashi OVA.

I've seen the first episode and I've got to say that the plot does seem interesting. It seems to focus on two characters: a boy who likes to dress as a girl and a girl who wants to dress as a boy.

Apart from the intriguing plot, I found the animation distracting as everything has a white haze and the boy's personality is... pathetic.

The OP has it right though, the first episode held a lot of mystery. They do give some explanations and I was a lot less confused at the end than I was half way through, but I think it could have done better.

Over all, I'll probably continue to watch a few more episodes. I'm hoping the story will be developed well and I'll be able to get past the animation style.

Also, because this is a new anime, I will later be hijacking this thread to mention some of the other new shows, but all I've got to say is Mitsudomoe is back!

That's the same style as the manga actually.

It's not really. It probably just seems that way because the anime throws you into the middle of the story while the manga had 30 odd chapter of story and character development leading up to this point.

Which again makes me wonder why the decided to start the anime where they did. There's an entire season worth of story and character development that the anime just kind of, skipped.

I see.

Well, like I said the story has got me hooked enough to watch a few more episodes, so I'll have to see how the show continues.

This thread has prompted me to read the manga. We'll see how it goes.
