Bakemonogatari...Follow

...has finally ended.

It took a while and it certainly drove me crazy waiting for the final episode. I thought the final episodes was done really well and this has got to be one of the better series I've watched in a long time.

So yea, if you guys watched the first 14 episodes, time to finish it.

If this is the first you've ever heard of it, watch the series ...or at least the first episode or two.

I'm just watching it now. Whatever I was expecting, it wasn't this. I guess this is a slice-of-life with gods, ghosts and demons.

I LOVE how stylised the graphics are. This is a visual feast for anyone into contemporary design and composition. It's a showcase of Japanese art, with ancient, traditional, hyper-modern and international elements detectable. I especially loved the snake shrine episode graphics, with all the bamboo. I love the post-modernesque blank cells that get named, along with real-film cutting, different artwork style cutting, and use of subliminals at the start of episodes. I have to watch every episode with my finger hovering over the pause button.

Come to think of it, the short sub-stories are a great shot of Japanese traditional/historical culture injected into the present. Fun AND educational.

The female lead Hitagi Senjōgahara is gorgeous to watch, and very interesting. She may be an unsocialised b**ch, but at least she acknowledges that to Arargi. She says such outrageous things. The male lead Koyomi Araragi is handsome and appealing, if not visually in the same league. But his personality is wonderful. Who can go past someone with such a kind and generous heart?

I just watched episode 12, and that scene of the two of them together on the blanket watching the stars was unbelievably touching. The build up of the series, getting them to the point of finally opening up so sweetly to each other, while having serious cause to maintain their physical restraint with one another for the meantime was such well calculated scripting. I cried.

If something invisible is turning you off, maybe you shouldn't be watching Ghost Stories. The style of the show really puts off a lot of people for some reason, but I personally love it.

I watched Bakemonogatari and loved it but drifted off when the last two episodes were so slow to be released, I've finished downloading it all in Hd now though (yay 20gb of data for 15 episodes oO) so I'll be having fun rewatching the show and seeing the ending.


Also, katanagatari is nice but not as good as bakemonogatari so far (4 episodes in, I'm slow with watching anime lately)

I found the dialog entertaining and fun in Bakemonogatari, in Katanagatari it is a little too much and the dialog isn't as strong but the artstyle is very cool.

I followed Katanagatari until episode 5, then I dropped it. I might try watching it again sometime.

I liked the art style, but the dialogue did seem to drag on a bit longer than I care for.

Only watched the first four episodes so far, and thought they were good, but odd. The art style is... different. Crisp, but minimalist. As my girlfriend said, "It looks like they tried to be artistic, but it just comes off as they got lazy and didn't want to put anything extra in."

I might continue watching it, but so far I'm "meh, at least it's new" at best.

I really liked the series a lot. I kinda semi tried to get into Katanagatari but it felt lackluster in the end. Also If you wanna check out the light novel pages translated instead of waiting god knows how long til the anime adaption.

It has most of Bakamonogatari Translated and all of (cept 2 pages chapters) of Kizumonogatari. I haven't read them yet waiting on those last 2 chapters. Also from what i have seen they changed plans instead of a series it sounds like they are making a movie of Kizumonogatari instead.
