We are assembled here today to pay final respects to our honored dead. And yet it should be noted, in the midst of our sorrow, this death takes place in the shadow of new life, the sunrise of a new world; a world that our beloved comrade gave his life to protect and nourish. He did not feel this sacrifice a vain or empty one, and we will not debate his profound wisdom at these proceedings. Of my friend, I can only say this: Of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most... [voice breaks] human.

Leonard Nimoy dead at 83.

His last tweet: "A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP"

My first experience with him was this show called In Search Of which was absolutely mesmerizing to be when I was 5 or 6. It was the silliest sort of parapsychology crap, but at the time, it seemed completely plausible. I didn't see him on star trek until years later and I always sort of thought he was out of place there.

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

At least he brought a bright spot to an otherwise mediocre show in his later years when he showed up on Fringe. George Takai's updates have been sad today.

The friendship level between Nimoy and Takei was as much as Takei's hatred for Shatner.

This may have been his final commercial. Scratch that, this was from 2013.

First time I saw that commercial... I wonder why it didn't see more air time.

I got a chuckle out of him singing his Bilbo Baggins song.

I had forgotten about this show.

The goofball in me just loves that his book in 1976 was "I am not Spock" and his book in 1994 was "I am Spock."

Sources say he was trying to prove the Kessel Run could be done in 12 parsecs.

Too soon for decades off pop culture references?
