Anyone watch The Nightly Show with Larry Willmore?

Before it was Jon and Stephen, an hour of show, mostly the same material, just with Jon and his semi-serious mocking and Stephen with his faux-conservative mocking. Now Larry's show, seems very different. Almost unrelated to the Daily Show.

Larry discusses a few things, and then he and four others sit down and spend the whole show talking about a topic. And he's already had a couple crazies on there. An anti-Vaxxer, and a very large woman who seemed to be very anti-personal responsibility when it came to weight. I had to roll my eyes when the large woman decided during the "keep it 100" claimed that she wouldn't be skinny if she given the chance, cause she was happy with her body or some **** like that, and the audience cheered and clapped. That just goes back to the previous topic here about the willingness to accept obesity as some "beautiful natural thing"... I really think that thinking like hers is bad.

But, as for the show. So far it's had its moments. But, I'm waiting for more. I'm not sure I enjoy the discussion parts of it.

I have watched all the episodes so far, and I honestly with the show was longer, so that the panel could have more time to actually discuss the nights topic. I like the show, though, and find it quite funny for the most part.

Reminds me of Bill Maher's show, but for basic cable.

It seems to be struggling with balancing comedy with actual sincere conversation. Some nights it works, some nights it doesn't.

It also suffers from the issue that any kind of panel show does, in that it gives an disproportionate voice in some issues such as climate change and vaccines. So you don't want to just have a panel where everyone just says, yeah, people who don't get their kids vaccinated are idiots, because that's boring, but getting an anti vaccination person on isn't really correct either, as they can spout nonsense like the CDC whistle-blower which the group won't necessarily have the knowledge or time to refute. The time doesn't really allow you to have a nuanced discussion around something like the balance of societal health vs the problem of forcing people to get vaccinated which is a real issue separate from whether vaccinations work or are safe.

Overall I've enjoyed it though and I like Larry Wilmore, it'll be interesting to see where it ends up.

The part about the discussions I don't care for has to be the "Keep it 100" segment. The whole "answer honestly" thing almost never happens, they just spout some BS that they think the audience will want to hear. Like Penn's answer tonight.

I don't like the whole round table approach. Too many scripted voices that are supposed to be discussing but often they're not really responding to each other. I like the panel on Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me.

I'd been seeing less and less of Colbert anyways (and have always preferred The Daily Show) as my bedtime seems to keep creeping up.

If it does get better, it'll be a season or two before it happens since they need to establish an audience first.

With feedback, though. It offers the chance to tune that BS to the audience at hand.

Yeah, it's ******. If I wanted to see a bunch of idiots yelling over one another about things I don't care about I'd go watch Congress. Hey-o!

I remember my roommate at the time saying how much it was gonna suck when Craig left...But it was AWESOME.

Albeit, Craig had a certain hair-toss cockiness that was great, but Jon has had a presence that was fun all the time

Really? Maybe he was commenting on a comedian being one of America's most trusted news sources? Just a shot in the dark there.

So that explains why he is leaving?

See how the post he was responding to, comment, and link don't make much sense in context?

So, what exactly is this bit explaining?
