Yes, they're appropriate. They're also easy to read. They are however, all about necromancers.
Read them first and see if what you think. They're quick.

Yeah, I'm not reading easy to read books about necromancers. If you think they're ok for a 9 year old I probably do too. We usually wildly overshoot that when Nexa and I talk about what books to recommend to her.
