Weekend Update, with lolgaxeFollow

Our deployment is over, and we get to go home. The thing about deployments is that your whole company probably won't all go to the same place, maybe not even the same country. A few of us stayed in Jersey to deal with some day to day operations, but the majority of our guys went to Afghanistan. I'm happy to report no fatalities, and two "combat" related injuries. I quotation because one of those was during an attack that shook a gym and one of our guys got thrown off a treadmill. Yes, I will make fun of her over it. Overall, it was a successful mission and I'm delighted they're back.

Anyway, in about four hours the first shipment of people will be heading back home to settle back into their civilian lives, including myself. I've got up to a week of down time that I'm going to take advantage of before going back to the whole recruitment thing.

I'll probably see Guardians again, and start getting the house ready for the various winter changes.

I think I'm having wine tonight. It's been a while.

Someone is getting married somewhere. No one I know, but the consequences means extra young peoples staying at my house this weekend. The two temporarily living with us + 2 more. Husband and I will be taking to the backyard movie theater for tonight.

Any suggestions on a netflix movie to watch?

Well, that's one approach to the problem.

Last week I saw a pretty epic concert (Offspring, Bad Religion, Pennywise and The Vandals), which is the most interesting thing i've done lately. I've been so busy at work lately that I just haven't felt like doing much. This weekend, I may look into getting a new cell phone. Right now I'm leaning towards a Galaxy S 5, but I'm not sure yet.

I discovered that the big 3d printer has a tiny grain of rice sized fuse on its main controll board the hard way while printing upgrade parts for the smaller one, which is halfway taken apart to fit those parts. so, I kind of don't have a functional 3d printer this weekend unless the replacement fuse gets here tomorrow by some miricle.

So, other projects will get worked on this weekend.

Her comics are pretty cool, and I think she was on the webcomic show thingy Penny Arcade did a while ago?

I'm not entirely sure why the first one blew yet. I might also have a thermistor or heater core short, and if thats the case bypassing it with copper would mean buying a new control board, which are not inexpensive.

Were any of them any good?

I picked wild berries all weekend - chokecherries and blackberries. Now I've got a fridge full of berries I have to deal with.

I went to 2015 "Game Day" promotion for Magic: the Gathering and did better than expected, bought a new light/ceiling fan for the bedroom and found out that someone in Atlanta was using a dummy copy of my bank card. Fortunately, the bank noticed first and blocked the card before they could do too much and I'll get the rest back in a couple days after they make sure the charges go through (they might just drop off since they're now 'pending' against the closed account).
