Can anyone recommend a good server rack with built in A/C? The prez doesn't want to shell out to actually get a functioning A/C unit in the new server room... (he also runs from virtualization like the plague but that just means I have failed in convincing himSmiley: glare).

and anyone else getting like a HUNDRED last minute fiscal year deadline orders?? C'mon people... you've had 364 days to get this stuff straight!! Can I troubleshoot mail flow? Can I figure out why Sharepoint continues to suck-***? Can I figure out why my offsite backups stopped sending notifications? NOOOO!! I have to sit here an price out how many color printers and laptops people can squeeze into their budget...
It sounds like nothing.. but I try to work from momentum.. and nothing kills that like shopping for other peopleSmiley: mad

Happy Monday everyone. The Lord bless you and keep youSmiley: wink

Some years, when we find out we didn't spend enough and need to spend more to keep future budgeting in order. Usually office remodeling and such. I got a really lovely chair a few years back.

Gentlemen, do whatever it takes to empty your coffers!
Lap-dances, champagne-dances, shower-dances;
O, the things you can buy with a handful of bills!
It makes me excited! It gives me the chills!
There'll be thilch-arounds, breeders, hambones, and tweeners!
Zobos and debos and blorps that go 'Ena!'
For a one-dollar bill, you can pull down their zippers!
I am the zorlax- I speak for the strippers!"

Sure enough.. and I got myself some upgrades...but we (were suppose to) do our budget mods months ago.I just hate ordering stuff in general.. really. I used to have a designated "sales" guy that did all this ****..
It's the thin line between tech support and administration and management..

I've put through over 50 billings in the last week, the most we've ever put through in a month before is 27. That's what happens when people are ******* procrastinators and don't give me the information I need to do get the charges through. 4 months worth of billings put off until the last minute, a good reminder that I never want to officially work in accounting/bookkeeping. Because someone had diarrhea on a cooling fan and translated that into code. Smiley: mad

So the prez just leaves me a message "Hey I need you to order a PC for me before midnight"
Smiley: mad
Of course the sales dept of my usual vendor is now closed.. So now I'm going to have to by him a PC different than all the other ones from a separate vendor... which is going to wreak havoc on my IT OCDSmiley: motz

Most of the racks out there you end up buying the cooling module second. The APC netshelter racks are nice. as far as cooling, we usually install a dedicated wall or ceiling unit since you want some separation from the rack in the event of condensation / icing issues. Then you can add additional rack fan modules if really necessary. Most servers do a great job of moving the air these days.

The AC units are all derivitives of those Mitsubishi ductless units or larger units.
