I used a cooler in college. A desk that doubled as a beer break.

When I move, I'll probably have a mental breakdown from IKEA's furniture...
IKEA furniture is a pinnacle of design. Simple, good looking furniture that fits in almost all households, is cheap to make and is as small and flat to package as possible to reduce shipping costs without hurting integrity of the furniture.

The amount of thought that goes into the design of IKEA furniture is amazing.

I went to a presentation in Älmhult, Sweden (where the first IKEA opened) on IKEA and its founder. It was pretty inspiring. He used to sell matches to his neighbors from his bike when he was a kid, and now he's one of the richest people in the world.

It's funny how a lot of people look down on IKEA furniture when most of it is of really good quality and design. I've got some lamps, a bed, a sideboard, a table, and a chair from IKEA. Putting it all together takes a lot of time, sweat, and misreading of manuals, though. I'm pretty sure some of the stuff I've got has been put together wrong, because I'm avid fan of not reading manuals, but hey, it's still standing. Ooh, that reminds me...

Funnily enough, my other roommate will only drink hard cider. He refuses any other type of alcohol.

His favorite type of food is also cotton candy, so there's that.

I find myself in agreement. Also rifles should be used in all events. Add a real sense of excitement.

Then you need to deal with getting a whole table inside, and finding a place to paint it, and buying paint, and doing the actual painting, and BLEGH.

I rather just have table parts strewn around a room while I cry in a corner.
Usually the legs come off a table so it's easy to move and if you cut open a garbage bag or two you have a safe area to paint and get high on paint fumes.

Also you're gay, you're supposed to care about interior design.

Damn it digg, why must you always inject the voice of reason?!? If we all just did everything the easy way, where would we be?

I'll bet you're one of those people who buy a monthly ticket for commuting.

reason has no place in my thought processes.

and my work pays for my monthly bus pass thank you very much

The difficulty in putting it together and the terrible manuals without words are really my only issue with IKEA. Smiley: lolSmiley: lolSmiley: lol

I'm happy with some of the stuff we got from there, other stuff scares me though. The bookcase looks like it's always about to fall over, the storage cube thingies are nice though.

I'm laughing so hard I'm choking. I missed this last night and someone in the office just told me about it, from last night's Tonight Show -

I'm excitedly writing an e-mail to this guy in Japan who I've been trying to get results for. After something like 6 months of trial and error we finally have something useful for him.

Posting will recommence later.

Pretty exciting game today between Team Canada and Team USA.

Well, OK, so it was an NHL All Star game. But it was still pretty exciting.

Kind of surprising that Canada won, they weren't doing so well yet in the tournament and USA was on a roll. I guess it was the loser keeps Bieber that motivated them.
