NBC has exclusive rights, that means streaming rights too. Other streams are blocked, or if they aren't they slipping through the cracks, and likely will be at some point.

Something, something, freedom. Smiley: rolleyes

Ohh, in that case there's a Chrome app to fix that. Many other ways as well I imagine. People were so pissed off about NBC 2 years ago that get wouldn't want to take chances now.

I suggest following BBC streams since Canadians are probably all watching CBC ans the Brits don't have much to look at during the winter Olympics so lag is probably better on the BBC stream.

I'll try the CBC ones again. I know BBC is blocked (they simply won't let me watch them from my location) as I've tried to watch their streams several times with no luck.

Edit: Yeah CBC isn't available either.

Hence the chrome app to "change" your location.

Well I don't have chome loaded, but regardless of that, how friendly are those things anyway? It'd be awful easy to set off alarm bells here at the work computer, and I'm not into attracting that kind of attention to myself.

Edit: Ugh, and NBC only gives me 30min, then I have to sign in, which means no go. Smiley: frown

I have no idea, Dutch TV airs Olympics from 07:00 till 22:00 every day and the streams air evey single sport event live. I have less than nothing to complain about.

That's awesome.

Obviously I have issues watching at work. By the time I get home daytime coverage is ended and the primetime "taped" coverage is just too late in the day. ***** my life. Smiley: lol

Do what tge Dutch do, ***** work and just watch speed skating instead. We had some bewildered expats on reddit Monday who could hear cheers and groans coming from all over the offices.

This is so much less interesting than a F2P conversation.

Maybe we could combine things.

Olympic coverage should be free to everyone, without sound, and only in low definition. If you want the better stuff you have to pay for it.

I'm shocked that Canada is all about the winter olympics.

I bet it's one of the few times they feel relevant to the rest of the world. Smiley: lolSmiley: lolSmiley: lol

So I got selected for some limited mod thing on OkCupid, basically vote yes, no or maybe on whether reported photos are against the rules. There's some hilarious **** in there, I just saw a photo of a guy posing in camouflage, a green bandana and two bullet belts over his shoulders who clearly thinks he's rambo but forgot the muscle. A true chick magnet, that...

I was expecting ******** around every corner but so far more than half are pets followed by "funny" pics then bragging about tattoos, art or alcohol and then tits and ***. And about 80% of the pics are from girls.

The FFXIV content admin guy actually just posited fear of the unknown as an appreciable reason to be against the F2P model... as a direct counter to the accusation that it was unfair for people to be calling him "irrationally afraid" of F2P.

Quote:
There are so many reasons to be wary of F2P games... the no.1 reason being that only one AAA title has successfully launched as F2P, and that was Guild Wars 2, and the content of that game is shiny-yet-thin with minimalistic updates.

The next reason is literally that we should be wary of F2P because it's "Where P2P games go to die..." Funny, considering all the time spent discussing the fact that games like TOR doubled their revenue, or more, after the F2P transition and have become solidly profitable from it, when they weren't before.

How gbaji became a forum admin, I'll never understand. Smiley: oyvey

You act like Gbaji is the only idiot on this forum. Frankly, for someone moderating the FFXI(V) boards I'd expect them to turn crazy just from having to be there all the time.

In this case, it was the particular style of argument that's drawing the comparison. The positing-something-insane-that-somehow-also-proves-them-wrong-when-logic-is-applied style of argumentation.
