Oh **** yes! The Paladin class challenge is incredibly annoying. Even more so than the heroic bosses because you can't do anything about the crappy deck you have AND won't just say "oh well, **** this sh*t" because there is the card reward.

Edit: "he ll" gets censored, too? Smiley: eek

Thought this was a fun "interesting" build and video, to loosen things up a bit.

I haven't really played this season. I guess I should earn my card back, at least.

Althought I didn't originally intent to do it, I went for the heroic bosses. You get a new cardback after all if you clear them all.

Only missing KT heroic but he is really really annoying. Tried him for a few hours first with a Priestdeck then with Mage. Came not even close to defeating him. Smiley: mad

I had a bunch of quests piled up from being on vacation. Did those. Then new season started so I had to rank up a bit (got to 17).

I'm now getting in sight of 500 ranked wins for the Hunter. I don't know if the quest for the golden hero will be enough to keep me coming back or not.

I might try and mess with the heroic bosses. I just hate messing up my decks. NEED MOAR DECK SLOTS.

Anyone still playing HS?

I continue to play a game or two each evening. It's kind of relaxing.

Bliz just announced nerfs to two cards - the Hunter's Starving Buzzard will be a 5 (FIVE!!)-mana 3/2 versus a 2-mana 2/1, and Leeroy Jenkins cost is increasing from 4-mana to 5-mana.

The latter is a good call. Leeroy was quite a bargain at 4-mana. The former will significantly nerf the hunter deck. This sucks. I play Hunter cuz it's the only deck that's worth a darn without a handful of legendaries. But without card draw it's useless.

Ahh, well. I've been meaning to pimp out a Shammy deck.

Nerfs Ahoy!

Kotaku wrote:
Sorry, Hunters and Rogues—Blizzard just announced plans to nerf two of the most powerful Hearthstone cards, which will likely force many of you to drastically change your strategies.

Nerf #1 is Leeroy Jenkins, which is one of the most versatile cards in any deck but might be most useful for Miracle Rogues. Jenkins will now cost 5 mana instead of 4.

Nerf #2 is Starving Buzzard, one of the Hunter's cornerstone cards, which will now cost 5 (!) mana instead of 2. It'll also get a slight attack and health buff, taking it from 2/1 to 3/2.

Here's Blizzard's explanation:
Quote:

Leeroy Jenkins created a strategy that revolved around trying to defeat your opponent in one turn without requiring any cards on the board. Fighting for board control and battles between minions make an overall game of Hearthstone more fun and compelling, but taking 20+ damage in one turn is not particularly fun or interactive. This was occurring when Leeroy was used in combination with other cards like Power Overwhelming, Faceless Manipulator, Cold Blood, Shadowstep, and Unleash the Hounds, among others.

The amount of cards Starving Buzzard allowed Hunter players to draw ultimately ended up being too excessive for its low cost. This change will allow the Hunter's opponent more time to react to both the Starving Buzzard and the cards drawn by its power.

Expert cards that are being changed can be disenchanted for their full cost for a limited time once this balance change goes live. The currently targeted date of this balance change is September 22nd.

Consensus in the Hearthstone community appears to be that both of these cards needed to be nerfed, but that the Buzzard mana hike is a bit hefty. Should be interesting to watch what happens, though. I'm curious to see how this will affect Hunter decks—and whether they'll even keep using the Buzzard at all.

Sorry. You playing HS?

After avoiding all things Blizzard for a decade, I currently seem to be all awash in their games.

I play a few times a week, once I have a collection of dailies.

That's a HEFTY mana hike for starving buzzard, considering it's proc is on cards played., and it's the only real way for Hunters to get +draws (because Tracking is a discard situation).

I haven't played for awhile. Since I burned myself out while trying to get Heroic KT down I think. Only logged in a few days ago to secure last seasons cardback.

Can't comment on the Buzzard-nerf but I approve of the change to Leeroy.

I approve the nerf to Leeroy, but mostly because I don't have that card. I don't see what the big deal is about the starving buzzard, most times when I play it, it is usually killed quite quickly. Works very well with a release the hounds combo though.

Leeroy nerf: deserved. **** that guy.

Redic nerf to buzzard.5 seems to much, 4 for 2/2 would be better.

I totally posted a reply earlier... and it's not here.

If Buzzard is dying right away, you're playing it wrong. Draw cards are an instant kill/poly/silence priority, because draws are powerful. So you play Buzzard as part of a combo (and preferably when you have a chance to protect it).

It's like Northshire Clerics.

Still playing off an on, usually just enough to get to 20 for card back each month. What is this goblins vs gnomes? I was expecting it to be like the Naxx release, but instead it just appears to be 3 random decks of new cards?

I enjoy the game, but the pay-to-win aspect (regarding the expansion cards) is weird for a Blizzard game.

Collectable Card games by their nature are pay to win you cant stop it. Hearthstone has always been pay to win-esqe it was less pronounced.

Right, that's the collectible element. You can have card games that play exactly like Hearthstone that aren't pay to win, though. Deciding to make their electronic card game a trading card game is the same thing as deciding to make it pay to win, nut none of their gameplay decisions required they go this route.

Googled for information about the new expansion, since I did not follow news about the game for some time now and was rewarded with this.

Yeah, quite the debacle. Honestly, I don't see how so many people could make the mistake. There was nothing confusing about the pack purchasing window.

I had saved up enough gold to buy twenty packs of GvG cards, + the three freebies. I also crafted a couple. So, I've got a decent start on them.

I've made a Mech Rogue deck that has been pretty fun.
