I hope and pray that ESO fails hard, and convinces the bean counters at Bethesda (or whatever it's called now) to stick to atmospheric, subversive, money-printing single-player Elder Scrolls games until the end of time.

I hope it fails hard so they'll focus their efforts on the next Fallout.

Be careful what you wish for. I bet we're just months away from the announcement of a Fallout Online...

Nah, an MMO version of Fallout, while awesome if done right, won't happen if ESO fails. From what I've seen in the beta, it's going to take a miracle for it not to.

You guys do know that the guys behind ESO and the guys behind the rest of the Elder Scrolls series and the Fallout series are two completely separate studios, right?

ESO is being developed by ZeniMax Online Studios. The Elder Scrolls main series and the Fallout series are developed by Bethesda Game Studios. They both publish via Bethesda Softworks, and are both owned by ZeniMax Media.

ZeniMax Online, the studio developing ESO, was built specifically to build ESO. Its existence and eventual success or failure has no impact whatsoever on how soon we will get an Elder Scrolls VI / Fallout IV.

Great, now I can't post again until I think of something to do for my 5k.

This.

I'm keeping an open mind but Elder Scrolls and PvP weren't something I've ever had the urge to try in any combination. Now if they add in a butterfly catching minigame, I'm all in.

Well maybe after it goes F2P... Smiley: lol

Another beta weekend starts Friday. Character data from the last weekend was saved, if anyone played.

I'll probably go ahead and give it another chance. Why not? I WANT the game to not suck... I just don't have much confidence there. I keep hoping that, if I just keep playing, I'll find something that makes me think it has potential...

New beta test notifications went out, and they include an additional key for a friend. I don't plan on logging in, but I'll forward the access code to anybody that wants it.

Hit me up on the PMs.

I really want to love this game, but it looks so ugly on my computer I can't. I'm a shallow gamer.

Maybe I'll try it again though.

This period has no NDA, so it's theoretically good enough in their minds to show it off.

So I figure I'll log in and see. I plan to go to the city on Saturday, so I doubt I'll spend much time playing.

I forgot the BS name I used to sign up for beta which I needed to to retrieve the bs username I created along with my throw away email. So last beta I just said F it I'll get back to it later. That will probably happen again this weekend as I am still pretty hooked on Path of Exile atm.

Apparently if I bother to try this round of beta I can get a free monkey. I don't really need a monkey, but it's free...

Uh, me too.

Did anyone hit on the Wildstar Beta key in the other post?

I signed up for beta for that game earlier this week. I didn't pm the post person cuz it felt creepy, but the game does look interesting.

I'm looking forward to trying it out. Haven't received a beta key, but I'm really hoping it's good. Lord knows we could use more competition in the MMO market.

I'm just really worried it'll be the same vertical content structure as WoW. I'm not motivated by gear races much, so content systems that just erase the old content's value don't interest me...

If you want beta I have a friend key still.

Beta for Wildstar? I'm tempted, but I'm willing to wait until I see the finished product. Or at least the product at open beta. I figure there's no need to crush my hopes and dreams now.

(Plus, I have so little free time for games that pretty much anyone else could get better use out of it).

Thanks though. Smiley: smile
