I really thought that was going to be the Alien scene from Spaceballs.

For people that like derpy retro RPGs and roguelikes... I came across an awesome one last night - it is pay what you want (or free if you like)

It's all in ascii graphics and it's got a great soundtrack and is pretty funny:

That ascii rpg looks charming in some weird way. Probably C64 nostalgia.

In other news I decided to pull the trigger on Shadow of Mordor. It's DLing right now... 34gb O.o

It's most likely too late for my old working self to get any time in tonight by the time the DL finishes but I am looking forward to giving it a solid block of play after work tomorrow.

Finished Shadow Of Mordor late last week so I decided to pick up Borderlands The Pre Sequal. If you liked BL2 you will like this most likely. Just not as much. I'm playing Athena and I friggen Lurv how she plays. Cappy shield + elemental stuffs and lasers pew pew.

There are a few maps that make me want to strangle the devs. You should not go off map for a non secret passage that is essential to a main storry quest guys... just saying. Moon hoppin and butt slammin is plenty good times. And the verticality of some maps is actually an asset. Especially the space station one where you get to pretend your Sandra Bullock in Gravity. (Don't get blown out into space!)

I beat it on normal mode already after 33 hours and I am level 27. I skipped a lot of side quests though. I will try and pick them up when I pop over to TVHM (NG+) I can see many more hours ahead as I take Athena to 50 + farm. Then try at least 2 of the other classes, take them to 50. (I don't see my self playing Claptrap ever.)

Finished Fallout New Vegas last night (went independent Vegas). I think I liked the game overall more than FO3 but that's not to call FO3 a bad game. New Vegas just seemed better put together plotwise. Also, I was a bit amused that the Mojave region was greener and more vegetated than the Potomac River Basin.

After all the praise I've heard for Old World Blues, I made sure to include it. It was funny, then it started to drag, then it dragged some more, then it picked up for the ending. Didn't help that I had zero points invested in energy weapons. Overall, I think I liked Honest Hearts better but OWB was great when it shined. Saved Lonesome Road and Dead Money for another play-through.

I did not like Old World blues much. I wanted to but it just felt too forced. Honest hearts was cool. Dead Money is in a Love/hate limbo for me. It kicks your ***, torments and annoys you and yet becomes endearing. You feel good that's its over and you did it. Pretty good plot on that one. Never did play Lonesome Road.

Playing Alien: Isolation feels like a classic example of game stepping on story.

"Eep, alien! So scary... hide, hide, hide... ok, its gone. So, ummm.. where's the key to this door? WTF? How do I get past here? Ok, aimlessly clicking on desks and tables trying to find something. Click, click... ok, really? That's what I was missing? Christ almighty... ok, through this door and... eep! Alien!..."

Dead Money was a cool concept that they failed to make anything out of. Collecting dudes for a casino "heist" is great in concept but the execution was 80% of your time spent hunting for what was making your collar beep.

So I decided to take a break from my DA:I obsession and load up Lord's of the Fallen. So far it's pretty spiffy. Graphics are shiny, I suggest disabling Chromatic Post Processing though or otherwise you are in for a depth of field designer jack off. I think depth of field should be illegal in all future games but some designers still seem to have a hard on for it like Photoshop filters and lens flare. Do I want the game to make my failing vision feel even worse and make me sick to my stomach? No, and no one else does either knock that **** off.

That said the controls seem good if your a Dark souls vet. First two bosses were not to much problem. Circle away from the shield, watch for the sweeping back strike. Standard but enjoyable.

Then I got to boss 3. He is a right cheap twunt. He will one shot you but good. So I had to look up where to stand to avoid that. But I am now getting closer to learning him. Normal mobs are no prob so far as a DS vet. Weapons and skill sets seem decent. Similar to DS in that a heavy armor and sheild set can deflect most normal mob problems but a rolling and light set might be better for some bosses. I rolled one of each character archetype just to try them but my STR/Brawling guy seems the best so far. I may change that opinion once i unlock more of the special skills.

If you have a game called Eldritch (it's been bundled) you should give it a try. It's a voxel based, Minecrafty-lookin' Lovecraftian inspired FPS/stealth game with randomly generated levels and is a good bit of fun. My favorite game so far from my Backlog Alphabet playthrough.

I don't know that I'd say anyone should drop $15 on it but if you have it in your library, take it out for a spin.

I finished Wolfenstein: The New Order tonight and would give it a B+. Great shooter, lots of Nazi killing, great graphics, ran well on my system, soundtrack was excellent and the story and game world were both pretty good. My main complaints are a slow ramp up in the action (don't judge the game by its first hour) and some inexcusably slow tedious parts that bog down the pace. No one needs their Nazi-killing delayed to pilot a little boat through some sewers, open a gate, open another gate, turn a valve, etc. You spend twenty minutes never seeing another soul, just jacking around with your little boat. There's also multiple sequences that have you running some ridiculous task like fetching a welding torch that, again, have very little action and are mainly just you wandering around.

Those shouldn't be enough to keep anyone from playing the game but they did keep me from giving it an "A" since the pacing could have been tightened up by their removal and I find it hard to believe anyone finds them "fun". But if you're into shooters, I'd give this one a go and just grind through the poorly paced beginning and wait for it to shine.

Well, that's three positive reviews for that game from people I'm willing to listen to. Time to add it to my wishlist and pick it up next time it's on sale.

Skyrim with guns part 2 (Farcry 4) is super fun so far. No regrets on this, I feel almost spoiled every time I fire it up, seems like a perfect indulgence.

When you say "This is a thing.", what you're saying is "I've found something that I just learned existed and have decided to share it with you.". I'm really not understanding your confusion here.

Yeah, see that's what i don't get.

You just learned hearthstone existed, or you just learned that people make spoof youtube videos about popular media?
