I tried Smite last weekend, and its also the first MOBA game ive played. Is there any form of persistent progression with these games, or do you just start at square 1 every match?

There's nothing wrong with the latter, and it makes sense for fair competition, but that's just not for me.

Smite is still in Beta So no no real progression. LoL on the other hand your summoner level goes up and you get wow like talentsand rune slots that unlock that give bonuses to the character you're playing.

They just introduced "God Levels" this last patch after a fight your god earns Followers, atm it doesnt do anything cept increase your beta rank but It will probably lead to something like LoL summoner level.

Hey we should totally start a tera guild. Im on Ascension. How about <Omnibus>?

Not sure if being sarcastic or...

Anyway If you need an invite to the guild I still have the game installed. Just dont ask me to play. Smite and LoL are my drugs of choice til sunday when Ill be netless then i have 300 gigs of games installed to burn through. Not sure if I should do Hitman, Sleeping Dogs, Blood Dragon, Mass Effect series, or insert other title here game first. Hopefully I can burn though my backlog quickly with no internet/tv to distract me.

I plan on firing it up and playing again for the next couple of weeks.

So, after playing Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2 and Metro: Last Light I'm sort of stuck. Mainly because I'm not sure what to play next that won't be a step down in quality. I really sort of had a winning streak going there for good games.

I'm playing Dust 514 for review. It's so bad that I have to chase gameplay sessions with other, better shooters.

So much potential with it, but the meta-game is barely integrated, the real money transactions are ubiquitous, and the gameplay is atrocious.

Gonna start up Metro 2033 this weekend, and maybe go back to Red Dead Redemption or something.

Me too, I had forgotten how much the Mako sucks for planetary movement. They really needed to make it a hovercraft, with or without eels.

Ya, I remember when I first played it for the 360, got to my first vehicle mission on a planet, controls were horrid, I died instantly as I was swarmed by some enemies. I actually stopped playing then.

Didn't pick up back up until later when I got it on sale for the PC.

I actually think it's easier on the 360 than the PC.

I haven't made it to any vehicle sites on the PC yet as was side tracked by fixing some crashing issues...

I hit my one month non official burnout point for MMOs in Age of Wushu this weekend so I picked up Dust An Elysian Tale on a whim for 13 bucks. It had some pretty good reviews and even the Steam forums seemed unusually bright and cheery about it. So I figured wtf?

It's a bit hard on the eyes at 1080P resolution so I bumped it down to a window and I prefer that. So far it's a fun action platformer RPG hybrid with a surprisingly decent story. Kind of a weird blend of cutesy and dark at the same time.

Still trying for a 1000 hit combo but got some high 300's. Had to stop playing last night to go to bed after about 8 hours. I think it's maybe in the 20ish hour range overall depending if you hunt for chests and reclear areas for side missions.

*edit to say full controller support works very fluidly.

Just playing TF2 until I feel inspired to play something else.

I picked up about $150 in computer bits from Memorial Day sales and will throw together a "new" i3 system this weekend to replace my old 2006 Dell. I already had the processor, hard drive and video card so it was mainly waiting to find an 1156 motherboard for a reasonable price (eBay) then filling the holes. Upshot being that this system will be more than TF2 capable so I'll be able to fulfill my dreams of getting my 14 year old son to play and then ubersawing him in the kidneys.

well if you shoot somebody in the face with a shotgun, you are keeping them from hurting/killing your teammates and therefor indirectly maintaining their hit points. Smiley: grin

I think the prefered tactic is to blind someone with a flashlight/red dot. ..... Yeah lifelike

Edit: Did I mention from across the map too? I undersand running into someone with a flash light in a dark corridor and being momentarily blinded but I remember being blinded in daylight with a guy had a flashlight at a good distance.

You mean Valkyria Chronicles? Probably my favorite game of the PS3 cycle.

No, I think he(she? sorry, dunno) means Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume. Tactical RPG. I played it here. I played it for a little while, but never finished it, as I did with most DS games a few years ago. I own a card that allows me to try any games I want...

Could be. Didn't even notice the Oath of the Plume part since it wasn't capitalized.

yeah I meant the DS game, Sorry Valkyrie Profile! It's kind of neat. Not sure how long I will stick with it, but I like the whole "sacrifice your beloved team members to achieve your destiny" thing its got going on.
