Question on Bounty hunter profession layoutFollow

#1 Jun 14 2005 at 2:53 AM Rating: Decent
I have a question on my profession lay out.
Should i go MBH/MMarks/MRifleman/Pistoleer0003
giving Pistol Defense +30
Melee Defense +155
Ranged Defense +230
Assault and Recon Armor
vs

MBH/MMarks/MRifleman/Carbine 0030
giving Carbine Defense +20
Melee Defense +145
Ranged Defense +225
Battle and Recon Armor
Both have speed of +70.
The only reason i bring up the two different formats is Armor. Would the lack of defense be worth the Battle armor for a bounty hunter or would the compliment of long and short range with increased defense be good. Thank you again for youre time and input.

hard to answer without knowing what you want out of it.

your first template has advanced stopping shot. Good for PVP. However in the future it may be nerfed due to recent SOE spotlight.

Second template has carbines. Advanced charge shot is not much better than regular charge shot imho. Don't bother wasting the points. Not to mention you already got a knockdown with underhand shot from MBH. *shrug* maybe you want to have two of them

Rifles is GREAT for PVE.

So figure out what you want to do and play the way it will be fun

My question is "why Master Marksman at all"? You don't need it. I am MBH/MS/MR with 0/0/4/4 in Marksman. I used a T21 rifle exclusively while grindind BH and liked it alot cuz of the range and the safety you get using concealed shot. But after CU I couldn't use any of my weps so I decied to try carbs and fell in love with them. I love the carb for "balance" between speed and range. Currently am using a proton carb that does 1100 dam (with a p-up) at 611 dps. Very sweet. I also have reb assault armor with 70k condition, 7100 kin, 6100 energy and 5100 all others.

And Val is right, you already get improved underhand shot for a knockdown. If you chose to hunt Jedi, you're going to need the melee def and higher speed on wep. If going PVE, then it's your call. I just know that I do VERY well whether I solo or group and am always being asked to group because of my tracking abilities.

My thing is play what you want to with it. I see when you go by someone elses opinion you dont get much fun out of it. Im going MBH/MCommando/Carbine x/x/4/x, I told someone that and they acted like I was crazy or something. They also told me I wouldnt kill too many bounties. And my BH days would be short. But I dont care I think its gonna be fun. But whatever you want man, try different things and dont forget you get a respec token today.

It also depends on what u plan on doing with ur bounty hunter. If you are planning on hunting Jedi, u may consider DE so u can make tracking droids and "walking bombs" to help u locate and eliminate ur mark.

Um...helabut, no matter what you take with Bounty Hunter, you're still certed for assault armor from the bounty hunter prof itself.

If you're only concern is armor type, do whatever after BH that you want, 'cause you'll be certed for assault armor either way.

You're lucky your getting anything at all. They only did the respec in the first place cause they changed the whole game without much warning. And they only gave you this one cause of all the whining.
