Anyway I can change how far away I see npc and monster names? I've tried rendering distance, I've tried the complex shader dist, neither works. Getting extremly annoyed trying to find a certan monster on a char that lacks track when I cannot see enemy names until I am bascally kissing the monster. Most mmorpgs have a setting for this so no reason Eq2 doesn't.. I just need help finding it. TY all

Let's see, without being in game.... ha.

It's something about rendering distance. Not shaders, something else. The same thingie I mess with when I want to see nodes and shinies a ways off.

I'm currently in game and while I can't find a feature that specifically mentions target name rendering, I do know that even with "NPC Names Always Show" you do have to be close to it to see name, however, an easy fix is to change your settings under "User Interface" - "name and chat bubbles" , way down towards the bottom you will see "Show names for NPC's" ... I would (and do) set this at "Target or Mouseover only" ... now to see the name of an NPC farther away simply mouseover them or target them and their name should stay highlighted.

Granted it's not what your looking for, and it is nowhere near as fun as tracking, but if you have your rendering up high enough to at least see a mob before you are in aggro range you can easily target it to see if its the one you are looking for.

Hello Did anyone ever find a solution to this problem. I am currently experiencing this problem as well and it just happened yesterday. I now have to basically be standing on top of the npc for it to show its name plate, but for regular PC chars i can see really far away. The game is basically unplayable for me like this because if i run through a zone i am basically blind and get attacked by 20 things i didnt even know were there. I have messed with every option i know of uninstalled reinstalled everything and nothing makes it work like it did the day before. Please if anyone knows how to fix this please help me.
