Tradeskiller rejoiceFollow

Am I dreaming? Someone pinch me quick. Did I actually read that they have permanently increase tradeskill xp by 50%?

I missed out on the temporarry increase so I am looking forward to this.

I don't think it will change much in the way of competition though. You either like to tradeskill or you don't. There may be a big boon on the tradeskillers at first but I think it will then diminish as people get bored.

I for one will rejoice. My last 8 hours (at least) have been spent tradeskilling and I have not yet reached to the bottom of my bags. So now if I am correct I will be able to spend 1/2 the time to level up again? I won't save time in tradeskilling but I can level twice as fast. Is this correct?

I think maybe it is just someone's sick idea. This is the only place I have found this.

If you click the 'Update Notes' button instead of the big 'Play' button you will see this message -

Quote:
*** Tradeskills ***

- We have permanently increased tradeskill experience gain at all levels by 50%.
- Level 50+ imbued shields now have the appropriate effects.

No. Your maths is incorrect. It is a 50% increase in XP so instead of (for example) getting 10 XP for a combine, you will get 15.

What the change will mean is you can get the same amount of xp in 6 hours as you did in 8.

Also incorrect.

In 6 hours you will get 9 hours worth of 'old' XP.

In 5 hours 20 mins you will get the same amount of XP as you used to get in 8 hours.

It's true. 50% increase means it will take 2/3rds the time to level. I think it's a good idea. Going from 49 to 50 the experience bar moves at a glacial pace. Sometimes it doesn't move at all making a light blue item, and I stretched mine out to 2/3rds of my screen so I could see movement. If it's that slow there, it must have been hell going from 59 - 60, and what about future 69 - 70 and onward.... O.o

I'm lucky in that I get a lot of imbued item recipes at 49. I bought a stack of extracts and made all of the common items. Last night I got over 2% exp. on each, with vitality, and finally made it to 50 :)

Where is this said on the EQ2 official sites? When logging in, if you go under "Did you know?", and read the notes there, it does not make mention of it, unless I just happened to somehow look over it :P

Oops! I see it now :P Weird that such a huge change would not be mentioned on the update notes that I linked. They are on the standard notes, however :)
