Well I dont know anything at all about that card. Frankly I need to look at getting a new one but I just plan on getting a new computer in stead so Im waiting. While it looks like a very good card I can not comment on that much. Only thing I did look up is that it is not on the list of Sonys supported graphics cards so if you do have troubles with it in game they can not help you.

Overkill?!?

That card should be able to toast and butter your bread. That is a very high end graphic card. Personally I would suggest a card like that for someone who want's to do a lot of work with DVD burning or graphic creation. You may never fully put that card to the test with game playing alone but it would be fun to try.

I thought I had spent a lot of money with my $350 card. With your card you will definetly be the envy of all.

Personaly I would check out Nvidias range from 6600GT to 7800GT depending on your budget. The 6600GT is probably the best value for money card currently around and most of the mags suggest that Nvidia is leaving ATI for dead at the moment anyway. Plus you have SLI capability for later upgrades should you want it.

Also do you realise that you need a motherboard with a PCI express slot for that card as apposed to the old AGP slot. Not really sure what slot your current card is using but you might wanna make sure. You may even consider changing to a PCI express motherboard if your not already using it as IMO it pointless spending money to upgrade an AGP that is at the end of its life anyway.

P.S. Yes anything above a Nvidia 6600GT or ATI X800 is probably overkill at the moment, but its like driving a Ferrari, you dont really need it but its nice to have it if you can afford it.

Jus my 10 cents

IMHO, there's no overkill with EQ2 because there isn't a computer in existence that can run it playably at maxed out quality settings.

If you get a new motherboard, get one with the SLI (dual video cards) feature, then you can buy another identical card in a year when they go way down in price and get a 20% performance increase.
