I always see people giving map coordinates for NPCs and mobs, but I can't seem to find where these display in game. Is there an option I have to turn on to view them?

hold your mouse pointer over the compass and you will get a tool-tip pop-up that displays your current position in the zone. The 3 numbers displayed represent longitude / height / latitude

I would also suggest if you dont mind spoilers of where stuff is for quests and just where npcs in general are to download eq2maps. This is the link.

May seem like information overload at first but is a very helpful program especailly for dungeons that do not normally have maps.

Another nice way to get to where you need to go in a certain zone, is to waypoint the loc. If you have a loc in a zone, you can type in the waypoint like this:

/way 165, -1, -152

It will give you that cool, gold line to follow! No more getting lost. (unless of course you are in a dungeon where waypoints are damn near impossible to follow)

Those waypoint paths are a funny bunch...

"It's this way! No, no, it's THIS way, c'mon!"

"Um, I think it goes through that mountain..."

"Ok, I'm lost"

If you ever, for some reason, want to get REALLY REALLY lost, get in a group and go into Stormhold. Close your eyes, let one of your group members run around a bit, count to 100 and then waypoint and try to find them. Good luck!

Also works in Ruins of Varsoon, Vermin's Snye, Condemned Catacombs, Crypt of Betrayal...you get the picture.
