This might be completely obvious and I am just missing it, but I can't figure out how to delete the item in my overflow. I have to drop something from my inventory, shift the item in overflow into now open slot, then destroy the item. This method causes me to destroy 2 items when all I wanted to destroy is the one.

I know you may say, just go sell etc. when this happens but here is an example of a situation when I would prefer to just destroy the overflow item. At the moment I have been spending time leveling fishing/mining/foresting/gathering in the Sunken City. I go in with an empty inventory and go till full or I become bored. Now, most items are stackable so even with all my slots full I can continue gathering as long as the material gained is one I already have in my inventory. However, if I gain a new item it gets put in my overflow and I am now stuck deleting items as I described above or wasting time going back to sell. If I could simply destroy that item in overflow Icould continue on until my stacks were completed.

I have tried everything I can think of to destroy the item but can't get anything to work. Is this possible and I am just missing it?

Generally it seems if you pick an item up and then just attempt to drop it on the ground you will be asked if you want to delete it.

Does that not work with overflow items too? I'm not near my PC - can't test it right now unfortunately.

I have tried right clicking (only brings up windows settings tab), dragging it to paper doll (returns to overflow and says item cannot be equipped), dragging it to main screen (nothing; returns to overflow), tried right-click dragging (don't think it did anything), double left clicking, double right clicking, nothing seems to have worked.

It isn't a big point but it is kind of annoying, not a game breaker but a PITA. On the topic of Pain in the *** problems, does anyone else have a problem with chat filters/settings resetting after logging out and back in the next day? I have a window for chat and another for battle spam and after logging in the next day the chat box (the original window) has maintained its settings yet the battle window (new window) has been returned to default settings. Again not a game breaker but a severe pain in the *** to redo every time I want to play.

I experienced the same problem with the overflow, I don't know a way around it so I just bought a bunch of bags...

By the way, I think George Carlin should be President, I love that guy...

The overflow issue is a rather old one. Guess it hasn't been high priority in the game fixes going on. The way you described it is pretty much the issue.

Other important details I remember worth noting:

The only way to change your cash down to a lower value coin is through vendors. Banks won't do it. Meaning if you need 30s to buy something from a person aucing in zone, but happen to have 2g 10s on you.. you need to hit a bank drop off your 10s and then go buy from some vendor to get him to change your gold down. Another slightly costly PITA.

The aforementioned problems with custom windows being reset. This supposedly has something to do with the servers keeping a file that remembers your view UI settings, and when they don't mesh perfectly you get a weird mix of your settings and the default. Supposedly, making sure you camp out the long the slow way (camp to select, then exit) will help control this problem.

Losing skill points. When you level your cap goes up of course, but sometimes when you zone or camp your skills will reset themselves. You'll still have the same cap, but any points you gained from using the skill will be lost. The amount never seems to make sense. I've lost as many as 20+ points (several hours of gameplay) and as little as 2 points (15 mins). My only advice for dealing with this is to not get obsessed with having your skills capped at every level, because it will never happen, lol.

If you ever even think you might consider being an artisan, make sure you do the Dreak's quest on the isle of refuge. Prior to that set of quests you have ZERO recipes to use. This means you can never do anything to gain xp in the tradeskill path, which leaves you locked at level 1 artisan forever if you skip Dreak (because there are no level 1 recipe books that I've seen to date anyways). They may have implemented something that allows you to work around this now, but last I saw newb toons still get no starting recipes. This is prolly the only superhuge bug IMHO.

---------------------------------

Anyway, I never really considered any of these game breakers unless I felt like going the "uber" route which I doubt I'll bother with. They are all PITA things though, that I dearly wish they'd fix. Bug it! Bug it! Bug it!

well it kinda sucks that they are truly a problem, but atleast I can stop trying to figure it out now that I know it is truly bugged.

And yes George Carlin is the best. I don't think he could be president though, people have a hard time accepting brutal honesty and George would probably **** off a whole lot of people when he told them what he thought of them or their ideas, lol.

All you have to do is free up space in your regular inventory or your bank, then click and drag overflow to that space. You cannot delete or access items while they are in overflow. It only exists so that you do not lose quest rewards if your inventory is full.

This is definately changed. I never knew about those quests my first day. I decided yesterday to start tradeskills. I was already level 3 in them with the newbie recipes. I'm not sure when that happened or where cause I was not paying attention, but I know for a fact I never did a single tradeskill thing on the newbie island.

I did, however, start an alt and do the quests. I then banked the book you get on starting crafting. My main had that book in his bank later. I can't remember if it transfered or I just automatically got it when I landed in the city. At any rate, my main was level 3 in tradeskills without doing anything. I hit level 9 that night.
