PSA: Upgrades, pre-order, early access... oh my!Follow

Just to add confirmation to the thread:

I am a 1.0CE (Non-Legacy) owner, and I preordered a digital download, standard edition, PC version from Amazon. I just registered the Early Access Code, and it gave me the pre-order code. I clicked the link to apply to my account, and it worked perfectly. In my "permanent options" I had FFXIV, FFXIV Beta, FFXIV CE, the original CE items, the new CE items, and to be added were the preorder items.

Actually I quoted.. me? It's been one of those days... so sorry lol

lol. It's okay, I understand. I have had one of those days as well. Now I'm expected to go outside in the heat for dinner. Ugh. Just feed me in bed, thanks. -_-;

Yep that's what happened to me as well. The only thing I'm worried about is that I thought I needed to get a PS3 version to make it work so I cancelled my preorder. *sigh* So who knows if it is going to revoke it from me or not. At this point I have stressed myself out over items that will sit in my inventory once I start getting new gear which will probably be day 1 or 2, so I give up.

I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that they don't have the time/ressources/skills to track down EA codes that are linked to cancelled orders.

I'm curious, you're not the first one mentionning the permanent options. I was under the impression that those are no longer shown in the Square Enix account management. They aren't for me anyway. Am I looking at the wrong place?

Thanks! Ok, so I'm reassured that I don't see that on the SE account management. It's on the pre-order page, which I should not need to use since I bought on PSN. Hopefully. In theory. If everything goes as planned. And I'm sure it will all somewhat go as planned eventually!

They show up when you go through the early access pages. They don't show in my SE account page either at the moment.

I am a new player who participated in the beta and subsequently purchased the Digital collectors edition from Amazon. I have finally gotten my pre order code through and registered. I only saw it list however the early access and the cap and minion. When will it mention or how do i collect the mount and other items given as part of the collectors edition?
#85 Aug 21 2013 at 9:01 PM Rating: Good
You forgot to mention that for CE 1.0 you still get your Onion Helm, and if you registered your FFXIII code, you get your Asuran Armguards.

You collect them from the delivery moogle.

Yeah, I was actually trying to keep the post as trim as possible. People are usually confused enough so I figured I'd leave out the parts that aren't really necessary.

I purchased the original CE version of FF XIV and was also in BETA.

When I open the launcher and login I get the message
"No valid or active service account."

Should I have received a code?
Or does this mean I just can't enter early access and my account won't become active until the official start date in August 27?

I can accept no having early access but not having access at all when it goes live is a different story

You should receive a code if you pre-order the game. You didn't mention which platform, but PS3 codes come through PSN when you order and PC codes are emailed.

There are only two ways to gain early access(starts on the 24th):
You have to pre-order the new ARR game(either version) or you have to be a legacy account from 1.0 version.

If you don't care for early access you will still be able to download the client and play for 14 days trial. Because you bought the 1.0 version CE, you will be able to get the ARR bonus items that come with that CE for free. You will get these from the delivery moogle.

If you purchased from the PSN: http://ffxiv.zam.com/forum.html?forum=152&mid=1377222196139658292

Thread updated to reflect that players who already downloaded the client used during beta test need only update that client to prepare for early access and launch.

This is the message I recieve when I try to log on. What does that mean?

There are no valid service accounts.

Please follow the URL below to register your pre-order code for early access.
http://entry.ffxiv.com/pre-order_code/na

Also I know I am a CE 1.0 owner but how can I verify that my account reflects that?
#97 Aug 24 2013 at 11:00 AM Rating: Decent
I have FF XIV 1.0 CE

I have a NA early access 18 digit code across 4 fields

When I start the launcher and Login I am told to enter my pre access code and told to follow the url provided http://entry.ffxiv.com/pre-order_code/na to enter the code.
When I do this it has me to again login to my account.
When I login it brings up a new window called the "Pre-order code registration page that contains FIVE fields. (which I believe is the Eu code format)
Entering a NA code of course comes up invalid

Using a different link http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com which displays a message stating that there WAS a problem with the Early Access PC redemption code for the NA market but that now it was fixed. Real good news, for a brief moment I actually had hope.

The first thing it asked me to do was login.
When I do so it takes me to a new page to complete information for the account.
When I try to do this I get a message saying that account is already taken.

So apparently the Launcher recognizes my account but thinks it is a Eu account.
While the NA site apparently will only accept new accounts.

Any suggestions?

Also, there is a message in the launcher that says pre access will be open from 8/24 until 8/30.
I thought FF XIV ARR was going live on 8/27,
So will those who bought 1.0 have access on 8/27 or 8/30?

Sorry for the delay in responses, but I'm working today and I have been asking a friend who went through the process to give me details on logging into the pre-order website...

mgibson2020 wrote:

A service account is a sub-account that is kept under your Square Enix ID. Any time you register a game it creates a service account, so you'd have one for FFXIV, FFXI if you played that and/or for each copy of the game you register if you have multiple copies of a game linked to the Square Enix ID.

The website you should be using is this one.

Log in to that website, input the 18 digit code, select the platform that you wish to play on and submit the info. You should be directed to another page with a link to download the launcher(not necessary if you have the updated client from the last phase of beta) and you should also see a code displayed. This also means that the early access is active on your account.

Open the launcher and log in. The launcher will ask you for the code that was displayed on the website. Enter the info there and you should be good to go.

Log into the same website you linked above. Click the 'Log in' button at the top and fill in the username and password with your Square Enix ID information. You should see your name where it used to say log in now. Click your name and go to profile. Click the settings button. This should take you to a page to enter your info. Make sure you fill it out completely and select 'English(US)' as your language. Submit that info and go back to the main pre-order page and see if it works now.

As far as the dates, I'm not sure why it's like that. Perhaps they will only give the bonus in-game items up until that date? If I figure out why I'll post again, but as far as we know early access started today and runs up to and through launch which is Tuesday.

Unfortunately that doesn't work.

When I login through the launcher it recognizes and accepts my ID and PW and sends me to the next screen where I need to input a code into 5 separate boxes

When I login in at http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com/ it sends me to a new window displaying my email address and wanting information to complete a new account

When I go to my account page and look under Services and Options it displays FF XIV and lists it as an active account.
(FF XIV ARR is not listed)

So it looks like there is currently no way to upgrade from 1.0 to 2.0. (I'm HOPING it will automatically do so when it goes live)
Your only current option is to create a new account.

Sorry it's not clearing your issue. Sounds like unfortunately you'll require a call or chat to SE customer support. I'm always looking for new info for the post though so I'll keep an eye out for anyone having a similar issue and let you know if I find any remedies.
