Awesome post, thanks for putting it together.

A personal aside: Trappin's Luclin maps are the gold standard I wish all maps were. He put a lot of effort into those during the <Lunar Mutant Rights Now> fun times a bunch of Zam users had a few years back.

Anyone else have some map information to share?

Maybe the powers that be can get this thread stickied ?

Threads like these with all the info and links on one page are always golden, and contributer's would be able to add new links to the thread as time goes by or as sites fold or new ones are born.

Many returning players need new maps and many are lost as to what site has maps for which expansion etc.

If it get lost in the older threads as time elapses, they may never even see the information..

It's already linked in the Forum Information & Useful Threads sticky . There was an admn note edited into the original post, but that seems to have got lost in one of the edits along the way. I will put that back in.

Not bad, helpful. If it wasn't in that sticky, your post would have made someone realize "yeah this thread should be in that sticky".

On my EverQuest map website, I have a complete EverQuest world altas map and standardized maps for every zone: http://www.eqmaps.info. I standardized all the colors, fonts, sizes for all labels across all zone files. Merchants = green, bank = gold, zones = red, traps = yellow, landmarks = white, guild = grey, and etc.

Also included are cleaned up maps for the Hole, Hate, and Plane of War.

Sometime later this week, I'll do a new map showing all the Broken Mirror zones, I'll also include TBM detailed map zones.

Regards,
Brewall

Little by little, Brewall maps are becoming the gold standard on my server. It is the answer I give and others do when asked the best place to get EQ Maps now. I love them, they are great. Thank you for making them.

Brewall maps are first rate. Packed with useful info, even showing multiple spawn points for mobs which can pop in multiple locations. Color choices and background colors smartly chosen as well for max readability. I recommend them highly!

Longstanding practice here has been to consolidate useful threads into the FAQ and have a minimum number stickied at the top. This was to suit the needs of various users who have different display situations (too many stickies causes them to see no new posts is a paraphrase of the old Alla admn guideline).

I had a private message asking a good question about this thread:

Is Brewall's still the best map pack?

I'm not playing any current content atm, so others should weigh in. I do know that a lot of people were a) having trouble finding the old mapfiend maps somewhere that they could actually download and use (not sure if this is still an issue) and b) really liked what Brewall had been doing.

Goodurden made maps for EoK while I was in beta and his release is what I have been using so far. I didn't see any releases from Brewall on the beta forums that I am aware of. However Brewall did release EoK maps. Both map makers are linked on the map portion of the EoK wiki overview page. Maybe we can get someone to do some reviews of both.
