The Obelisk of Ahkzul

The entrance chamber, this location is completely safe. If you have changed your mind, exit by clicking where the glow in the archway touches the floor. This is also the revive location. You'll be seeing a lot of it.

The Shadow Staging Area

When you have cleared the last mob in this area, Zorkus high-tails it out the door to go warn the Executor of your intrusion.

Cosma Atrium

When the last mob in the room is cleared, Proto-Ravager will spawn in the center of the room.

The Gravis Capacitor

Melee DPS should charge into the room and jump into the center. You will begin bouncing up and down, like on a trampoline. Ranged DPS and Healers move in and to the left, staying on the side of the pit. Focus all ranged on Kierax while the melee team tries to grab the energy balls that spawn and move towards Kierax. They must not reach him or he will AE and wipe the party.

Executor Vark's Chamber

When you enter this room, a very interesting conversation takes place between Adjunct Zorkus and Executor Vark.

Zorkus: "Executor Vark. The obelisk is being invaded from the outside."

Vark: "Rectify the situation, adjunct."

Zorkus: "The invaders have already breached our defenses. Kierax has been slain."

Vark: "Why is it only now that you have notified me of this? You seem to make a habit of failure."

Zorkus: "I summoned you as quickly as I was able. You must convey the artifact claimed from the troll invaders away from here... as I previously advised."

Vark: "I am quite capable of making my own decisions in regards to the Norrathian staff, adjunct. I have no need of your sniveling advice."

Zorkus: "I strenuously admonish you to take the staff to the Desolate One. It has great power that must be exploited."

Vark: "Then the power is mine to exploit, adjunct. I am the Executor here and I tire of your chastening! You are dismissed, permanently."

Vark then kills Zorkus.

Who could Zorkus mean when he says "The Desolate One"? In Dal, the ancient language of the Elves, sul means sand or desert, as in Sul'Dal, literally Sand Elf or Desert Elf. In English, desert and desolation have the same Latin root. Put this together and it is probable that "The Desolate One" is none other than Anashti Sul.
