Access to Stormhold via the Library door (near the shore) is only available to you after you enter the Stormhold main entrance, make your way through Stormhold, and then exit through the Library door. Exiting through the Library door 'unlocks' it for your character, and you may enter through this door thereafter.
note: Group members who have not unlocked this door will not have access even if other members of the group have unlocked the Library door.
Good luck getting through the Library to the door, especially if the rare monster "Chest Terror" is up.

How do you get to the library? I've been running all over in Stormhold and can't find a way in. Going by the EQMap there's an exit from the library to Stormhold level 2 and an exit to Antonica from the library but I see no way to get in for the first time.

The go around the mountain (not in the water, the other way round) and you will discover the Vale of Shattering, after you pass it, the yellow arrow will pop on your screen showing Stormhold!

The entrance to stormhold is locked. How do I unlock it? is there a specific access quest?

That is an exit. It doesn't open from outside. The entrance is quite a bit further south I believe.
Are you positive? Can anyone confirm?!!?

I am reasonably positive. Was at the door by the northern shore, moused over the door and got a message box saying the door appears locked and that there was and emblem of the Knights of Thunder on the door.
That is identified on my map as the door to the library, not stormhold itself, but doesnt give credit for finding the library../shrug...I've been into stormhold everyday, on numerous of my lowbie characters ...ding 25 4 of the 5 ...
