As of 2013 players must first complete A Deepice Mystery before this quest will be available.

There are two versions of this zone: The Icy Keep (Easy) and The Icy Keep (Hard). You can do this quest in either one so although the quest says Heroic you can do the easy version without a full group. This does not mean it is soloable... it may be, depending on your class, but often it is not without auto-mentoring down.

Speak to Snarf Frostfoot at 174, -37, -1312 in Frostfell Wonderland Village to begin this quest. It is not repeatable.

For a complete walkthrough of this zone see the The Icy Keep (Hard) zone page.

  1. Slay the four of the guardians of the keep: Gate Captain H'Bri, Tamer Nicoli, Kastus and Odaufe.
  2. Bridge the gap with the four planks to reach the freezing goblin at 100,0.63,-180 and speak to him. Make sure everyone in the group gets this update before continuing!
  3. Break the boulder blocking the chimney at 88,1,-187 .
  4. Make your way through the lower level and slay the final guardian, Ice Maiden D'Ina.
  5. Kick the dragon egg. When it breaks A Hatched Ice Dragon will freeze you and escape.
  6. When you thaw out, grab a piece of egg and look for Snarf and his boys... your rescue party, or at least the cooking team.
  7. Grab your reward and accept a port out before Snarf realizes there is no yolk...
    • Snarf gives you the option to either leave the zone or to go back to the entrance. If you are running around after the zone is finished, looking for shinies or whatever, Snarf is your only way out unless you can evac. For that reason, he and his boys stay down here.
