If you have wiped by summoning the entire area on you, cause you failed to get the shovel, you have to leave the zone and come back, hence your inability to use the shovel cause they have already arisen from thier graves. Also you will have to fight the mob that is in each grave.

This quest is given by Sir Thothur Dorarr in Firemyst Gully.
Step One: Talk to Sir Thothur Dorarr in the small Dwarf village to the left of the entry. He will give you a quest to kill the skeletons that inhabit this zone. Kill 10-20 (varies) and then return to him.
Step Two: Kill the Sigils. The Sigils are ward wands that are places near mobs around the zone. You must buy the dwarven shovel from Brother Morrim in the camp and use it to dig up the graves around the final sigil. If every grave is emptied, they will not rise and attack you when you approach the final sigil.

The war against the undead of Firemyst Gully has gone on too long. Sir Thothur Dorarr has asked me to help cleanse the Gully of undead; this looks like it will require a lot of work.
I have slain many charred skeletons and zombie scathes, but it seems that it has not affected the undead horde.
I have reported to Sir Thothur Dorarr.
I have destroyed the sigils of undeath.

Finished this quest on 1/26/07. After wiping on the last step, looked here and read that you needed to buy the dwarven shovel to dig up the graves to prevent all the nearby mobs from coming to the aid of Galintari The Apocryphal. So I went back to the camp and found that Brother Morrim sold "an old dwarven shovel" for 12s 16c and I bought it. Then made my way back to the tower in the center with the rest of my group.
Turns out the shovel can not be equipped or "used" if you right click on it and when you hover your cursor over the gravestones nothing happens either. Maybe they have changed the way this quest works since it was first introduced.
We were able to complete the last encounter by killing all the mobs, usually named Scathe <something> plus the companions, near each of the gravestones around the tower before engaging Galintari.

How do I get this quest? I can't enter Firemyst gulley other than into Shattered Stillness. What zone do I need to zone into? Or how do I get in there.

I went into Firemyst Gully just to look around and it was full of level 51 skelly's and an epic??? There were no dwarves in the camp and the skelly's hit me for 2,500 dmg as I am only lev. 18 currently. Do you have to be at least lev 20 or have someone with the quest already to do this?

I also got this quest so long ago and never finished it so I went back to Firemyst Gully to clean up my journal this evening. I talked to Sir Thothur Dorarr and then started killing skeletons. I’d killed perhaps four dozen with no update when I decided to go to the tower and see if Galintari the Apocryphal (the unbeatable mob when I was L20) was still there. As soon as I entered the tower he said, “What do we have here? Intruders, hrmmm...? Well... I guess it is dinner time... RISE MY CHILDREN! RISE and feast upon the flesh of these insolent fools!,” aggroed and spawned about 20 mobs, consisting of scathe knights, scathe bishops, and scathe harbingers.
As soon as I got the message, “You have killed Galintari the Apocryphal,” I received another message telling me “The timer for Firemyst Gully had been reset to 8 hours.” After the all the scathe mobs had been dispatched I returned to Dorarr and was able to continue the quest by responding “Slaying them seems to do nothing, they just keep coming back.” I was then able to destroy the sigils and complete the quest. This occurred post-LU21.

I think you have to kill at least "green" cons to get credit for the kills to trigger the next step in the quest. I went in with my lvl 22 Monk (level to 23 while in there) and only a handfull of undead were grey to me. When I killed the grey I didn't advance in the quest, but with the green I did.

Went into this one late, so almost everything cons gray at this point.
Still, the battles are long (I'm a troubadour), so I took a wizard with me on my last trip... and we must have destroyed 40-50+ undead, and Thothur still does not say I've killed enough!
Anyone have any ideas? At this rate, it's almost like he expects me to clear the entire valley single-handed while he and his men sit behind their little wooden wall drinking their beer and enjoying themselves. :)

The hard part about this quest is really the first part where you have to kill the skellies. for the sigils just have someone invisible find them and trigger them. for the last one you need two people that are invisible, one to pull the big guy and one to get the sigil. i just did it with a 19 sorcerer. works like a charm :)

My quest doesnt say kill x amount, it says help fight back the army, how many do I kill? until it says go back and tlak to him? or all of them?

This quest is easy to do with a small group if your in the low twenties. I did it with a 23 ranger and a 23 conjuror. Of course, the last sigil was a fight we couldnt win, so we dug up all the graves and after killing those mobs. We spawned the named and the ranger ran around will the conjuror destroyed the sigil, went back and completed the quest, then took aggro off the ranger, so the ranger could complete quest. Oh, and incase you were wondering, no, all 4 sentries cannot kill the named ;-)

EASY WAY TO GET PASSED THE HARD PARTS -- When I did this quest way back in the early levels, it was THE COOLEST thing to have one of these Dwarven Proc weapons. It was, as far as I know, the FIRST to be seen. But now that the quest has been passed around and players are more educated on obtaining a Dwarven Proc weapon, some players may want to get the weapon and bypass the extremely time consuming "cleansing" of the zone to allow a safe fight against the mob guarding the last sigil. I have done this for a number of players upon passing through Antonica to go camp somwhere else. (I'm cheap, I don't want to pay 60sp to go to Enchanted Lands/ Zek, unless I am in a hurry. ;p )
Here's the basis of how to get the weapon, if you do not mind missing out on some loots. (May be useful early on, but not that great.) Have a higher level player, upper-twenties and higher if you will, or as long as they can handle the melee from around 30+ grey mobs. Go into Firemyst Gully, and let the higher level player disband once inside. While the party of 5 players start the quest and kill off a few undead to recieve the first update. During this, have the higher level player immediately run up to the tower and "aggro" (yes grey mobs will be summoned and aggro /sigh.) the mobs that are supposed to be cleared before attempting the named inside the tower. Once the higher level has these mobs on him/her, they should then go to the guards and have them help out with the fight, otherwise it may take awhile. After those mobs are cleared away, have the high level player then search for the sigils and clear the mobs around the sigil, to allow the questers easy access to it. Then have the high level player kill off the named inside the tower to allow the questers to grab the last sigil. (NOTE: If the party of questers can handle the named, then I would say try it out, loots are cool!) Once the last sigil is touched, the questers may then report back and get their brand new Dwarven Proc weapon!
NOTE!!: Before the higher level player disbands, summon him/her a ressurection item... Just in case. Unless the higher level player is a healing archetype.
**I also would like to note, that I never "charged" any player for my service while helping them get proc weapons. I would find it quite upsetting to learn of anyone to do so on their server. Some may try to take advantage of this generosity, but the gratitude, and satisfaction of players recieving their proc weapon was payment enough... I know I know, sounds cheesy, but hey, it's was fun.

Ok two questions, 1. I had 2 sigils left and I talked to Sir Thothur Dorarr again, and it gave me the option of completing the quest(not sure if this would reset the quest or not)
and 2. The last sigil in the tower..Bewaaaaarrrree--Tens of thousands of scathe knights rise from their graves and root you in place and eat your lifeless flesh..so yeah, how do I get past that part(I.E. last sigil)?

If you have a rouge in your group you can go from point to point using the wards. If I can find a map I will post their locations for easy viewing. We were not able to get the final ward without dying and currently waiting 6 hours to re-enter and finish/continue the quest.
