Egg Hunt in the Nest  

After you've killed enough clippers, he'll just fly right by you and tell you to meet him at the Windgazer's Hideout. Go to Whisperwind Isle to the Windgazer's Hideout. Hail Mavaerick at -659, 8, -498.

We did the egg run tonight, 2 in group needed. There were 3 of each egg. One in first area, one around foot of climb, one in corridor towards 2nd named, one in area by climb near 3rd named, 1 near the lift to the boss mob and 1 in same area as boss mob. You must collect last egg BEFORE killing boss mob.

We also saw eggs respawn, so think you can do with full group of 6. Respawn time wasn't huge.

i soloed the isle as a 70 necro it was very easy.. using a master 1 dreadknought pet

I did the quest today and didn't have a promblem. The trick is to kill all of the Wing Clippers and then run back over to windgazer isle and hail Guard Maeverick.(up the 3 climbing walls at the end of the last level is where he's located). It was fairly easy... although, we did have a lvl 70 Beserker, Templar, and Fury.

I can't free him. I talked to a GM, and like Jagg on 5/16/06, they told me it was a known issue, and that the Development Team are looking into it. They refused to give me a rough ETA on when it will be fixed though, and of course refused to help in any way, IMO typical of the in game customer service.

Anyway, some others have freed him, so it is POSSIBLE, but IMO he is bugged, since freeing him is very far from consistant. Seems like the people who did free him that I know did it in the morning soon after a server reset...I've always tried in the afternoon or evening with no luck. Could be he gets more "bugged" or whatever the longer the server is up.

Cleared all the wingclippers, killed zero guards. Maeverick stll does not fly away.

GM says it's a known issue, but will not help.

Confimed with soe customer support that this is broken and they will tell you to wait till they fix it

barney, come free him for me, i been clearin just clippers, all, just guards, tried every combo i could, and he never leaves >.<

Cleared the island 4 times in about 5 min max. No Clippers on track. Dodo bird won't leave.

Still bugged.

Pulling only the two guarding him inside the cage does no set him free.

I tried several times but he is staying in the cage even after they are dead.

So apparently you need to kill every single clipper before they start repoping.

We tried killing just the windclippers guarding him to no avail. You need to kill all the windclippers on the island, then he goes free.

This is the 13th quest in the Qeynos Claymore series of quests. It is available after completing Return to Tayil for Freeport citizens, or Return to Murrar Shar for Qeynos citizens.

It is initiated by speaking with High Guard Maeverick at the Windgazer Hideout in Barren Sky. If he is not at the hideout, he is currently captured and you will have to free him. This can be accomplished by heading to Prisoner Isle. Kill all the Wing Clippers on the island before they respawn to free him.

Once you have the quest, you must head to the Nest of the Great Egg, which is an instance zone in Barren Sky, near the Windgazer Hideout.

First you must collect six eggs for Maeverick, all of which are ground spawns within the Nest. You can only see them if you are currently on The Great Egg Hunt. There appear to be at least three of each egg that spawn in random locations throughout the nest, so more than one person can complete this quest per instance.

Once you have collected all six eggs, you must kill Chamberlain X`Haviz.

Return to Maeverick in Barren Sky for your reward. You may have to free him a second time if he's been captured again.

This unlocks the 14th quest in the Claymore series, Scaled Salutations.
