The Fate of Fleshripper  

i searched for fleshripper after reading sosai's post. found the beast after climbing only 2 stairways. i did kill a lot of monsters and mobs between receiving the quest and finding fleshripper.
however, i have been wandering the ramparts before and never encountered him. so i think there is much truth in triggering the spawn with climbing the towers.

Confermation:
If you get the fleshripper quest, but don't go up and get him, he will despawn. You will have no choice but to go back to the library, delete the quest and then grab it again. Reading the book spawns Fleshripper. You then only have to go up to the crosswalk and make him lay down.

Confirming that quest is still working - however there are only two steps unlike the primary quest right up (maybe it was changed in an update). When you get the quest, immediately read the book. There is not a 2nd part of the book in the manservants room. After I read the book in the library, my quest stated to find The Fleshstripper. I went up to the ramparts and started running around the outside wall - bingo there he was. He was not there earlier when I did not have the quest - so he seems to spawn after the quest update is made when you read the book in the libary.

I took a look at the axe and seriously can't believe that the weapon is flagged for level 42s. Its impossibly weak in stats and base damage for anyone at that level..SoE really needs to reflag that weapon for levels 28-36.

Info on Fleshripper is incorrect. Reading the book triggers his spawn and he does in fact spawn on the same ramparts as Elise. There isn't any area one level above them as you can clearly see if you look up.

Woot! This quest is working at long last. :)

To get this quest, klick the stack of books at -19, 14, 48 in the library (this means you must be able to open the library door to get to it!) and choose the option "The Fate of Fleshripper" in the book. Accept the quest and read the whole text to get a quest update.

Now you must kill Fleshripper. He's a named minotaur that roams the bridge that spans the yard, but NOT the one where Elise also spawns, but the bridge one storey above that (coordinates, roughly: 5, 30, -25). Fleshripper seems to be a triggered mob. For me, he spawned after I checked all the ramparts, i.e. after I'd run up each spiral staircaise in each of the towers above the Everling siblings' rooms.

Kill Fleshripper and you can choose between an earring and a one-handed axe.

I followed Sosai's instructions and can confirm that no killing of the sentinals was needed to spawn Fleshripper. I did have the quest update already for the completed reading of the book, but entering the towers did not work. It was only after i deleted the quest and reaquired it did Fleshripper spawn for my by visiting the top of each tower.

Just killed Fleshriper today.

I have pictures, but i do not know how to submit them. I did not even kill any mobs (lev 46) cept for the daughters, wnet to the libary found the book and the quest (-19.49, 13.50, 46.09). I had to leave, came back another day. I entered the castle, found the other book on the bottom floor as mentioned in the above way point of -23.94, 0.03, -61.79. The quest still read 'I must read the complete book...'. I went back to the libary and found the stack of books on the floor. When I tryed to examine the book "The Fate of the Fleshripper' the book was firmly shut. I decided to try and delete the quest. Then reading the book again i got the ding and the statement that I finished reading the complete book. Seeing the hint of the ramparts I went up to the top. I decided to enter each tower. Also a note, I did not kill and patchworks or any mobs at all after getting the quest again. The key I belive is the fact that I entered the TOP of each tower. There is a small spiral staircase in each tower. I did nothing in each one except circled each area thinking i might hit a spawn point. After the sixth tower was covered I saw the mob on my track (hehe gotta love track). The rest as you can guess was a fight and a quest reward.

one more note, my guild chanel recived notice that "Sosai discovered [Fleshripper Battleaxe]" I do not know if that is a server discovery or not I am told it is,but I kinda doubt it would be for this item.

OH hey now that i think of it its the swine mob that pops after doin the boarhead qsts. BUT there is a named Mino in castle but i have never killed him so im not sure if he counts...but ya know that lvl 40ish epic that pops in one of the sisters rooms and does not move...ummm ya..just a hunch but im guessin that might be the mob even tho its name is not fleshripper.

has anyone tryed the archfiend guy for the update?

So, has anyone ever completed this quest yet?

He wanders around near the river in Nek forest. Double up with a group. I don't normally hang around to say hi.

According to the story he is supposedly wandering along the ramparts forever. Perhaps he is invisible?
I remember reading text that said ' You hear a soft humming coming from the ramparts' when I arrived at them once but it might have just been the sister in the middle.
I've also tried to clear out all the sentinels on the tops of the towers.

Has anyone found the fleshripper yet?
The Patchwork fleshrippers don't update the quest -- as your supposed to find the Named Minotaur.
