Looks like the way to start the quest has changed. First, you have to read the book (I got mine at the Academy in North Freeport). Then, and only then, I got the quest from Arqis. He didn't go beyond smalltalk before I read that book.
The Queen Dyleena spawns after you speak with Queen Thayilia. Qheen Dyleena is level 29 Heroic with 3^, and when you attack her, she has 3 or 4 friends (Royal Viziers?) that spawn around you. Definitely will want to have a nice group for this one!!
Okay, all of you players who are like me....when you Hail Rulithus, hail him then look STRAIGHT up....at the sky UP...like you want to check out the stars HIGH....and you will see the quest options UP there. He is not bugged (as I thought for days) he is just frelling TALL. Enjoy!
Is there a level cap on the Cauldron hollow access quest? I am a 70 Bruiser and Arqis won't say anything but "Blah blah youre out of your element blah blah". I did this quest with my SK when he was low level but i can't do it now with my bruiser. I just want to get the 'Restoring Ghoulbane' HQ out of my journal and need to kill the Torig.
LOOK UP HIGH. Tilt your head... I went back and forth on this a dozen times. I am NOT bugged, the text is just at the top of the tree. Look up. Change your perspective.
In the description above it says, " Queen Thayilia is another fairy in the Nektulos Forest. She can be found at -499, +2, -292." These coordinates are incorrect. In fact any combination of +/- in front of these numbers results in an inaccessible /loc. Click on the link to Queen Thayilia in the Related NPCs block for different /waypoint numbers.
Could not hail the Fairy Queen Dalninia yesterday, with the message that I needed to speak the fae language, but since starting on the fae language quest, with only one tapestry patch in my possession, Queen Dalninia will now speak to me and offer me her quest.
Just to let everyone know Queen Dalninia Will not speak to you if you dont speak Fayfolk(fairy),you will get the message "This is the land of the Asilians. Why do you come to our land and force me to speak your tongue?
Apparently this zone has been HORRIBLY bugged with the 'combat revamp'
I was in there just tonight with a guild raid. 4 groups lvl 30 to 45, and we were wiped 4 times.
Some of the mobs would cast some kind of 'charm' on our main tank which would than cause him to attack our group. The 'charm' lasted for 4-5min (the entire fight)
After the the 2nd wipe we started to try 'cure arcane' to break the charm, and it seemed to 'unfreeze' our main tank, but he still couldn't cast for the rest of the battle, and errors were being SPEWED into the 'battle results' window.
Apparently those keys (A Witch's Key?) are one time use access keys. Dunno if they work on all access zones or not, but I had one and used it at CH also.
The part about the Funeral Pyre is slightly incorrect. If you're doing this as a group, all group members need to walk into the Pyre to get an update to the quest log and credit for the kill. Otherwise, if you don't, you have to wait 20 minutes for the respawn.
I found a key with a picture of a cauldron on it, i then went and touched the gates of the zone and zoned in...is this an alternate way in or is this quest for a different part?
Queen Dyleena is alot harder then she looks. Once attacked she spawns 5 friends, royal guardians and royal defenders. These are easy to take down. It's her that's a pain. She is immune to lots of magic, and has a ton of HP. So take lots of smackers. AFter you get her, her friends are cake.
The last step is to kill three warlords. T'Velk is 28 on the D'Abth bridge. U'Kaltax is 29 at the top of N'Mar's Ascent, J'Narus is 29 in the Nek Docks access canyon and is the toughest of the bunch until he runs out of power.
If you cross the eastern river at the southern most bridge (like you're going to Funeral Pyre).. as soon as you cross bridge, cut right in front of set of 3 mushrooms. Head due east into Tilberbous.
I'm on the part of this quest where I have to talk to Queen Dalninia, but she is an attack mob only. Trying to repair faction to see if that helps, but the opposing faction faries are very few and far between. Anyone know how to check factions to find out when I can go back and have the option to talk to her instead of only attacking?
I've killed her 3 times solo, though so I'm sure there's going to be alot of mindless faction farming now to fix it.
Just solo'd her as a 36 Fury. Basically I had to just keep myself alive and melee her until the adds ran out of power. After that I just meleed her down with proc buffs and a dot. It's doable, but not without the ability to heal or massive DPS.
Patch did fix/break Queen Dyleena Solo trick. Also, Queen is Level 29 with two up arrows. Difficult for even a solo level 35 I imagine. The quest is rated at Leel 20 here, but recommend level 25 to 30 group with many DPS. Must kill her quickly to minimize adds as described below.
I went up against Tilberbous solo at lvl 28 with my necro. I had the master 2 pet up. While tilberbous was able to nuke the heck outta me he was unable to do any dmg at all to my pet. I ended up letting my pet kill it. took about 12 minutes but it got killed. I do not think this was a placement of the mob bug because i nuked to much and got agro and the mob chased me to a new spot before pet got agro again. this will probably be fixed in a later patch but may as well exploit it for now.
I think the Queen got patched. She is now pretty difficult.
Our group (lvls 25-28) tried 5 or 6 times to kill the Queen, and failed. No matter what method of pulling you use, as soon as she is damaged, 4 or 5 adds are summoned by her.
One time we had the adds dead and queen on low health but we were a couple of men down and low power, and then guess what? A bunch of more difficult adds were summoned. Not only that, the adds will chase you over the whole zone. I had to zone out to Commonlands to get them off me.
Tried to get Dalininia today with a group of three. Pulled iwth taunt and ran FAR away from her helpers. So far she broke it off from us and we had to go back and get her. As soon as she was damaged the helpers all showed up. Also we killed all of the helpers first and then tried. As soon as she was damaged they re-popped.
We had the "half party not advancing quest problem" issue tonight. It looks like it was triggered by the entire party not sticking together near the pyre. To solve this issue we zone out and re-zoned into a NEW instance... (From Nek1 to Nek2 for instance). When we reached the Pyre once again, we made sure to jump in as a team. ANyone who did not advance did this time around.
heres the deal, did this quest up to the funeral pyre. found it, clear it, spawned the mobs needed for the quest, keeled them, lootz was handed out, checked quest log, me (cleric) and the pally got the quest updates but not the rog or caster in the group. everyone was there for the keels and did all the steps right but only 2 of us got updates. waited 30 mins, and did again with no updates again. /petition only got us a "dont know why" and "redo quest step" or "delete quest and do again". after bout 4 hours of working ths quest, very bad luck at several points, would not be fun to do it all over again.
anyway, /rant off. has anyone else had this issue or problem of not getting updates. searched the forums and internet and didnt find to much info or help.
Yes this part was rather tricky. We tried resetting her, however each time she is attacked, her protectors will spawn (if they arent up already) locking out the encounter. Our group did the following successfully.
We attacked the queen first, which drew out the 5 guards. After backing off and letting the encounter play out, we waited for the queen to spawn (short timer)
Then we set one person to attack the 5 guards and pull them away, running the around the lake. The other 5 players in group then attacked the Queen without problem, and the quest updated fine!
This quest is given by Arqis in Nektulos. He is located near the bridge to Commonlands. Completing it gives you access to the raid zone: Cauldron Hollow.
The first order of duty is to find a book about Cauldron Hollow. This book can be found in a stack of books that is resting on a table at the Academy in North Freeport at 10.92, -7, -128.22 , or in the Three Towers in South Qeynos, take the yellow portal, it is opposite from Sage Indis Surion 707.70, 82.36, 127.08 . Right click it and inspect it to get a list of books in this stack. Read the Vanishing of Cauldron Hollow book. You can also read the other book to open up another quest.
After reading the book you should return to Arqis in Nektulos Forest.
Arqis will refer you to Dalninia, the Fairy in Nektulos Forest. Dalninia can be found at
-196, 0, -342 .
Dalninia will ask you to visit Queen Thayilia. Queen Thayilia is another fairy in the Nektulos Forest. She can be found at -499, 2, -292 . She will ask you to slay Queen Dyleena.
Queen Dyleena can be found near the bone lake at -742, 145, -2199 , way up past the top of N'Marr's Ascent. Take the Bird to Bone Lake Station.
After killing Queen Dyleena, go back and talk to Queen Thayilia, then Dalninia. Dalninia tells you you have to go and enter the Funeral Pyre -960, 12, -715 and kill its 3 guardians. If you are doing this in a group then each group member must enter the Funeral Pyre to receive an update before killing the guardians or you will not all receive credit. The 3 guardians will spawn if you walk near the Pyre. Kill them, walk into the Pyre, and you'll be sent to go back and talk to Arqis.
Arqis tells you you must now light the Torches of Forewarning. To do this, you must visit the named treant Rulinthus who is quite near the Fire Guard (the wall that blocks lavastorm off at -47, 92, -2028 , near the north end of Nektulos. Start heading towards the Fire Guard, but veer west into the dragoon-infested forest where the path curves from northwest to north and head west. Rulinthus is right next to the druid ring, slightly southwest of it. Talk to him and he sends you to kill Tilberbous (south of the Funeral Pyre at the southern end of the eastern river at -1051, -1.5, -581 .
Tillberbous is found in the East of Nektulos, fairly near the road. Follow the road through wisp territory, take the right fork, and you'll get to an area with a lot of skeletons. If you look South while heading along the road, you'll see him. After killing Tillerbous, you must go back to Rulinthus.
Rulinthus gives you the twig which can be used to light the torches of forewarning, and the Gates of Cauldron Hollow quest finishes. Examining and snapping the twig that Rulinthus gave you will trigger another Access Quest "Cauldron Hollow: Lighting the Torches of Forewarning".

Now all that is left is to light the Torches of Forewarning. I must start with the correct one near the beginning of the dark elf road.
